Well, that really is pretty big, but it’s important to note that as bombs go, Hiroshima wasn’t all that big. The destruction was mostly a result of the japanese construction being highly flamable, and when exposed to heat it all went up. Same happened in Tokyo with the conventional bombing.

Yep. Incendiary bombs were the weapon of the day there. Something a bit more “explosive” was needed in Germany with all the brick and stone structures.

People forget that the US continued to bomb Japan with conventional bombs after Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
