Yep. Incendiary bombs were the weapon of the day there. Something a bit more “explosive” was needed in Germany with all the brick and stone structures.

Still, the RAF used more incendiary than explosives.

Usually there would be a wave of explosives to destroy the roofing of the houses, followed by a wave of incendiaries to set everything flammable alight.
