An 11-month-old child was shot in the face while sitting in a car with his mother in the Bronx, a senior NYPD official told NBC New York.
The shooting occurred on Valentine Avenue near East 198th Street in the Bedford Park neighborhood around 6:45 p.m. Wednesday, senior police officials said.
The child and mother were sitting in the car when a shot was fired into the car, striking the infant in the left cheek, according a senior police official. A blood-stained pink baby jacket could be seen left in the street after the incident.
The child was initially taken to St. Barnabas Hospital in serious condition, but was transferred to Columbia Presbyterian as the condition may have worsened, law enforcement sources told NBC New York.

Clearly a shortage of info on this “story”.
“”The suspect, described as wearing all black, fled the scene, heading wet on East 198th Street,
I tend to doubt that he was “wet”.
Another story said baby is now intubated and still in critical condition.
Father was in store, mother in car, one man chasing another outside and shot went into the parked car.

May God help that child in this terrible fallen world.
Thanks for the update. ‘Intubated’ isn’t good...
“...shot went into the parked car....”
NYC needs to institute much better gun control....
Amen! Praying for this little innocent baby.
NYC will resolve the problem by posting No Standing/No Parking signs at that location.
I believe there should be a requirement that to belong to a drug gang, you should pass a gun safety course.
