The Betadine gargle is sold out everywhere — on Amazon, on the manufacturer’s web site, at all of our local CVS and Walgreens stores. I eventually found it at one CVS in downtown Palo Alto and bought three bottles. I’ve been using it at the first sign of a sore throat for almost a year and none of my incipient sore throats have progressed to a full cold.

I also bought “Immunmist” which is a low concentration of povidone iodine nasal spray.

I haven’t had any pulmonary diseases since I got walking pneumonia three years ago (and that was as sick as I’ve ever been).

Find a 10 pct and cut it 10 to 1.

My 16 oz bottle of 10% povidone iodine arrived from Amazon today. I'm going to mix 1 oz of the iodine with 9 oz of sterile saline to produce 1% iodine. I also have a box of 6 nasal spray bottles. Those will be filled from the 1% dilution. You can work around the supply chain problems.
