"They say you have to work hard to get ahead, but some are finding that you can work very little and still do pretty well.
On Reddit, the “antiwork” subreddit is now one of the social network’s most active and engaged pages, after seeing explosive growth during the COVID-19 pandemic. It currently has more than 1.6 million users, up from 180,000 in October 2020. People post epic text and e-mail screenshots of quitting their jobs, but the real heroes are so-called “idlers” — those who stay in jobs doing the absolute minimum to get by while still collecting a paycheck. ..."

THIS explains all of the help wanted signs that don’t go away. Lazy ****s! The best place to be is in a job and looking for a better job. That way you don’t have to worry about money.
that's not anti-capitalist AT ALL. If you don't want to sell your labor, or you feel the price is too low - that's great, don't do it. Its just freedom.
But expecting to live off the labor of others, particularly enforced by government - that's definitely not capitalism, nor freedom.
What’s new??. All through my career, 10% of the workers did 90% of the work. Best time of my working life was when I finally got to where I could FIRE the slackers!
What I can’t figure out is why the fast food places I go to about once a week (I change it up as to which one I go to) have long lines that snake around every time I go to them no matter which one it is, people are ticked because they are run by skeleton or super-skeleton crews, the owners know about the Great Resignation yet they won’t pay that extra 2 to 3 dollars an hour more to get them to come back and work even though they’re still raking in the dough.
The reason I say all this is something has to give, sooner or latee.
Antiwork moderator Doreen Ford says that movement is a major snub towards capitalism.

24 years at my job...I’m an idler now lol...cause they stuff wokeness down our throats....milking them til retirement...suckers! Ps union jobs are great I’d have to kill someone to get fired cause they’re so desperate for people. We got them by the balls.
Methinks Doreen’s a dude.
Looks like a dude...

Sorry I mean Paul dano
I discovered that doing group projects in college. I always ended up being the one who was supposed to receive everyone’s contributions and type up the final paper. Quickly discovered that some never did anything, and most of the others turned in such shoddy “work” that I would usually end up having to write the entire paper myself at the last minute. Needless to say, I quit allowing myself to be talked into taking on that duty. It was always so tough to stand up there in front of the class, presenting “our” paper, and to see the slugs in the group receive the same accolades that maybe only a couple of us deserved. I learned a lot about people and socialism/communism from those experiences.
And my work life after that only confirmed those lessons.
The great resignation is fueled by those unwilling to bend to people trying to force them into taking an experimental, toxic jab.
My kids were always doing group projects and hated them for the same reason. I told them it is a good learning experience for working in the real world. Except in most situations in the real world your boss or client will figure out that you are doing most of the work - and you’ll get recognized for it.
I did a few group projects in school, but not too many. Except for lab courses where we always had at least one partner.
These losers never had a job and are afraid of a job.
“your boss or client will figure out that you are doing most of the work - and you’ll get recognized for it”.
My Dad said, “At your job, make yourself ‘indispensable’”.
My main takeaway is "this is Capitalism working precisely as expected".
People value their lives and are unwilling to let others rent significant portions of them cheaply.
One of the youtubes under that category included screenshots of articles written by people utterly amazed that offering better pay and benefits completely erased their labor difficulties.
tl/dr:
Employers rent my life. Sometimes, the rent goes up. Pay it, or get "evicted".
In the last 20 years of working in telecommunications and retail, I have found this to be true. There were people who were constantly absent, sleeping, coming in late, but writing themselves in early, and taking 4 hour lunch breaks, and leaving for the entire day. I would have to take up the slack for years, and the boss would feign amazement when I said what was going on, but nothing was ever done. They were afraid of a lawsuit or claims of discrimination.
That’s a guy! A guy dressed up like a Sheila!
