When your New World Order plans call for an Extremist Right Wing group and you don’t have one, you create your own. The American Nazi Party was created by the Deep State in the late 1950’s to sow domestic terror and doubt.

The infiltration of right leaning groups or creation of groups like the Proud Boys or Oath Keepers by Federal Agencies would not be anything new.

The American Nazi Party was founded in 1959 by George Lincoln Rockwell. The effort originally began in late 1957 or early 1958 when Rockwell met a financial sponsor (“fat-cat”) named Harold Noel Arrowsmith Jr.

George Lincoln Rockwell is still pretty well known. If you watch the Amazon Series “The Man in the High Castle”, the Nazi Commandant for North America is named “George Lincoln Rockwell.” (The real Rockwell was assassinated in Virginia in 1967.) There are many references to Rockwell in books about the JFK Assassination, the Civil Rights movement and other topics related to U.S. History in the 1950s and 1960s.

Harold Noel Arrowsmith Jr. barely gets a mention when one looks at the history of right-wing groups after World War II.

Harold was an odd-ball bachelor from Baltimore when he teamed up with Rockwell in 1957/1958. He was independently wealthy, supposedly from his family’s holdings of a large block of Dun & Bradstreet stock. (There are a few old-timey New York City family names in the Arrowsmith family tree that suggests the family fortune was already pretty old by the 1950s. “Bleeker” and “Lispenard” show up in his tree. These are two NYC families that had streets named after a relative that had enough wealth and influence to have a NYC street bare their name.)

Harold does come across as an eccentric and nutty anti-semite. Nevertheless, the role he played with Rockwell in forming the American Nazi Party has barely been looked at.

We think the efforts of Arrowsmith and Rockwell were more of a construct to create a Right Wing “boogey-man”, like at least some components of contemporary groups like the Oath Keepers and Proud Boys and that “Militia” of FBI informants who were going to kidnap the Governor of Michigan.

The Nazis (National Socialists) are far Left wing, almost identical with their Communist brothers

There’s a reason Stalin had his leaders refer to the NAZIs as Fascists rather than NAZIs. If he called them NAZIs, then the troops might ask why they were fighting fellow socialists.

The Nazis and Communists were bitter rivals for the hearts and minds of Progressives. Yes both were Progressive, but Progressivism detests competition from other versions of itself. And it will always call their competition "right wing".

In truth being "right wing" is simply not being part of one of the hive mind control freak Progressive movements. Ideally it would mean having common sense and favoring what is good, but there are always some who lack common sense and yet are able to resist the dominant Progressive hive mind of their time. These folks may be part of burgeoning Progressive movements of their own. The rest of us only want common sense and peace etc.

From my perspective, the Proud Boys got their start as a Western chauvinist drinking club. They became “Right Wing Extremists” only via Leftist agitprop efforts. Any resemblance to Nazis is entirely made up propaganda.

An important long-ish quote on that, kept handy on my profile page:

Although our modern socialists’ promise of greater freedom is genuine and sincere, in recent years observer after observer has been impressed by the unforeseen consequences of socialism, the extraordinary similarity in many respects of the conditions under “communism” and “fascism.” As the writer Peter Drucker expressed it in 1939, “the complete collapse of the belief in the attainability of freedom and equality through Marxism has forced Russia to travel the same road toward a totalitarian society of un-freedom and inequality which Germany has been following. Not that communism and fascism are essentially the same. Fascism is the stage reached after communism has proved an illusion, and it has proved as much an illusion in Russia as in pre-Hitler Germany.”

No less significant is the intellectual outlook of the rank and file in the communist and fascist movements in Germany before 1933. The relative ease with which a young communist could be converted into a Nazi or vice versa was well known, best of all to the propagandists of the two parties. The communists and Nazis clashed more frequently with each other than with other parties simply because they competed for the same type of mind and reserved for each other the hatred of the heretic. Their practice showed how closely they are related. To both, the real enemy, the man with whom they had nothing in common, was the liberal of the old type. While to the Nazi the communist and to the communist the Nazi, and to both the socialist, are potential recruits made of the right timber, they both know that there can be no compromise between them and those who really believe in individual freedom.

The KKK murdered many, many whites who dared to support Republicans. They were true democrats. The same evil infests the latter day democrats.

F.A. Hayek is correct, however he speaks about Cause and Effect Economically, not Politically.

Politicians can easily falsely label left for right, Great Economists speak to Natural Law and will not mislabel.

The KKK was started as the Democrats’ paramilitary group. Nothing right wing, in the American sense of the term, about them.

You I have that quote in my war chest and planned to use on anyone who equates national socialism with Marxist communism

Hayek....not much I read he says I object to

Good thinking

I’ve studied the rise of many ardent Nazi leaders....Himmler....what an ordinary man who rose so high.....anyhow outside the Prussian military leaders who joined the party many political nazis had started as socialists in response to the vagaries of the Weimar Republic

The SA in particular ...before the Hotel Lederer reckoning ....many were former socialists

I think they ascertained ardent nationalism and a private sector all enforced by a police state was more palpable to the German people

My oldest son....young and angry at the culture we’ve left them....not a hipster....is Uber nationalist and ethnocentric ...I’ve shown him this

While not the same

Totalitarians and Authoritarians drink from the same well and their adherents often converge however paradoxical that seems

But unlike Beckian simple logic they are not the same anymore than another talk radio canard is that all democrats are the same from Andrew Jackson to Robert E Lee to FDR to JFK to Dixiecrats to Jimmy Carter to Liz Warren and AOC

Thanks....good snag

Some folks reject nuance though...history more driven by slogans isn’t it

You are absolutely correct, but no one ever gets this. They just repeat the mantra they hear so often about "right wing nazis" from the media. It is one of the most effective dis-information campaigns of our times.

By which, you mean the Democrat Party of course.

It started in the late 1940s in the postwar period when many American Democrats had to distance themselves from their early support of Germany. Remember, many were getting marching orders from Moscow, and Hitler and Stalin were aligned/allied via the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact from 1939 until 1941, with other aspects of alignment predating that. So elements of the Dem party were getting “Hitler/Germany good, UK bad” from their Moscow leaders in that time frame.

Post WWII, they needed to cover over that history, so of course they smeared Republicans with the “Nazis were right wing” BS.

Both evolved from despair....or failures

Marxism from czarist failures and Nicholas weakness

Nazis from Weimar failures, defeat and ironically a fear of Bolshies

The commonality is loss of freedom

Adherence to the state....

Nationalist state for nazis

Economic utopian state for Russia ....at least till they fought fascists ....then they suddenly embraced nationalism

Germany had exponentially more private ownership

I don’t know where this notion started they are the same ...

Conservatives and pseudo conservatives who populate our punditry are always looking to deflect charges of fascism and nazism and racism directed at the right

I think that’s where this stems from

Along with throwing my southern ancestry under the bus

“Those nasty southerners are racist and their confederate ancestors same as nazis ...we didn’t ask them to join the GOPe ....they just loved themselves some Barry Goldwater......we’re not racist....they are..lol “

I’m not keen on neocon cultural interpretations you might notice

This is too much inside baseball

Folks live by slogans and platitudes not detail

Unfortunately
