On Wednesday's CNN New Day, co-host John Berman was beside himself with joy as he repeatedly suggested that Donald Trump accused Florida Governor Ron DeSantis of being "gutless." Meanwhile, signs of significant Democratic losses in the upcoming midterm elections were ignored.
Berman's unbridled glee came during a segment during which he played a clip of Trump calling some politicians "gutless" for declining to say whether they've had a booster shot. That was followed by a clip of DeSantis being rather careful with his response to a forthright question from Maria Bartiromo as to whether he's had the booster.
After CNN reporter Steve Contorno called DeSantis' Florida State of the State address a "national political speech," Berman ran with it, his voice filled with excitement as he suggested that Trump was targeting DeSantis with his "gutless" accusation.

After everybody got smartphones and tablets and all the airport folks stopped watching, CNN was reduced to liberal pundits as their audience.
In this case, in which Trump did seem to accuse DeSantis of being gutless for refusing to answer if he’s been boosted, who’s the RINO and who’s the Republican?
Actually, DeSantis had recently ducked a straight-up question from Bartiromo as to whether he’s been boosted. I think it is fair to assume that Trump did have DeSantis in mind. If not DeSantis, who? And Trump is reportedly angry at DeSantis for refusing to say he wouldn’t run if Trump runs.
What I do know is that DeSantis is not a RINO, and right now he’s my first choice.
Understood. I think this is a first sign of some conflicts and hard choices to come for many conservatives.
BTW, I include any Bush League Republican in the RINO category.
