So, after 2 years, and all that has gone on, I finally know someone directly who had passed from Covid.
Didn't know him well, a coworker, and a very nice man. Leaves behind a wife and a college aged daughter.
Over the last 2 years, I have known many people who have gotten sick, some severely but majority, a few days to a few weeks of feeling like crap and back to normal... Some have been hospitalized with severe cases, but all have recovered, though some have been facing very very long recoveries and are still not 100%.
I have before this, indirectly known of people who have passed, none directly, friends of friends, coworkers of friends, etc.
This is the very first person I know, that I can personally say I know this man, and he died of Covid.
I knew it was just a matter of time, before someone I knew would perish from this... law of averages and all. I fully expected it to happen long before now, honestly.
Anyway, this isn't meant to be a political post, just felt like sharing.
The ones I know that died were healthy. Two brothers died after going hunting together. The other was a healthy mid 40 dad.
I’m assuming they had delta, but they don’t fit the narrative of overweight and old.
Oh, grow up. What a joke of a post.
The original poster sent the message out at 07:06 PST and you sent your message out at 07:36 PST? Give the OP time to answer instead of jumping to conclusions.
The same for you. The OP was clear for the purpose of his post.
A good example of how much posting quality at FR has degraded.
I’m sorry for the loss of your friend.
I’m 59. My husband, the best man at our wedding and his wife, and myself have all lost our brothers.
My brother died of cancer at 48, another died in a plane crash in his 30s, one was an alcoholic and died mid 50s, and I can’t remember why the other one passed and he was in his 40s or 50s.
It’s strange losing a sibling.
Catholic hospital in Texas. Treated with Fauci protocol, remirvadis(spelling ?). to ventilator hours before he died.
“Frankly, as one gets to an advanced age, it is virtually impossible to not have one of the comorbidities. NOONE gets out of here alive. If Rona pushes them over the edge, IMO that IS the immediate cause of death. For example, if someone is shot and dies with other morbidities, do we say they died from say diabetes? NO, we say they died from the gunshot wound. Perhaps their heart gave out or their internal organs gave out but they died from the gunshot.”
Well said! Kudos!
Sorry to hear. We know about 6 or 7 who died.
We also know a few who had it and were hospitalized and now fine.
Some of our friends had it but no issues
I suspect the wife and I had it based on the symptoms but never got tested
Both of us are vaccinated
Way too much reason and common sense in your post. :)
He finally responded after 50 minutes of multiple questions and my prompting. Then it was to say that the person that he didn't actually know had no health problems. Then silence again. Typically, when you start a vanity here it is to discuss a topic with others. In this case strangely that was not the case.
In another thread HamiltonJay said, “no one has ever claimed vaccines do not reduce likelihood of bad outcome, it's about the only thing about the vaccines that has held up so far…”
post 119 from https://freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/4027708/posts
What is that even supposed to mean? I know several people who have had bad outcomes from the vaccines themselves, and there is zero proof that they prevent people from having bad outcomes from Covid. He is claiming to have no “political interest” in the subject he posted a vanity on yet his posting history says otherwise. It is filled with cryptic nonsense and then no responses when people call him on them.
I am not sure why a small amount of prompting was so offensive to you. You have a long history of scolding people here who post things that you for some reason take issue with. The tongue lashing, I got from you this morning is just the latest. It reminds me of something...
Fury Chat
If they are vaxed it is more likely due to the vaccination than COVID virus
I had a similar experience with man-made climate change. It finally affected me personally over the weekend when we had snow flurries right in my back yard.
For years I have heard about the climate changing but this time it piled up on my patio and I had to shovel and everything.
This isn’t a political post about climate change - I just felt like sharing.
“But when a freeper offers up personal experience, it gets interesting.”
Yes, because it comes from people with similar politics, the political component disappears and you get an unbiased look at reality.
And the reality I get reading these posts is this:
1. Covid is a nasty, easily spread disease to be avoided as much as possible.
2. The vaccines don’t seem to be very effective. Perhaps they help a bit, but are way oversold.
3. Avoiding exposure is still the best preventative.
I have 2 people in my small circle of friends that have passed away from the vax!!
Why are you so desperate to deny that this is an actual illness?
Pathetic.

Three solid observations.
The vaccines were carefully designed to counter a virus that no longer exists. It was mutated out of existence. I suspect that the 1000s of people that worked on those didn’t go to work each day with the intention of killing millions. And I suspect the vaccines were effective against the original virus for what turned out to be only weeks or months, but not really very long.
I’m pretty confident the 1000s that worked on AstraZeneca/Oxford were the same sort of folks. They didn’t go to work each day with the intention of killing millions. And ditto the Russians who worked on Sputnik V, or the India people working on ZyCoV-D. I just don’t see all those people growing up and looking in the mirror each day to say to themselves — okay, I’m off to work to kill another few million.
I have posted elsewhere, NYC has had zero excess deaths since Spring of 2020. Their Covid deaths simply stopped after about May 2020.
Their great secret? People shut themselves down. Office buildings have 30% occupancy and that is generating all sorts of bankruptcies, held off only via stimulus. If you’re not sitting in an office breathing virus all day, you don’t die. Ditto the subway. Work from home folks adhere to your point #3. Get away from people and stay away.
Of course, many businesses cannot survive this. There is no answer to this. None.
Because all the facts are never released and are intentionally covered up, we can NEVER know if someone died FROM Covid or WITH Covid. (I’m DONE using all caps for Covid).
The financial incentives alone make it likely to get a “FROM” Covid determination.
We need complete transparency. FULL details. We’ll never get them, so much to hide.
Your point is at least peripherally valid. We won’t be given all the info.
I will note that hospitals get paid more for a Covid patient (not a Covid death, a patient) because a positive test leads doctors and nurses to suit up and mask up when treating that patient. This takes time and costs money, and the gov’t reimburses this. If you think this is a huge windfall, then go look at hospital companies and compare their stock price to the S&Ps rise.
If they are getting rich from Covid, you’d see it in the stock price. (It’s not there)
“Pathetic”
Show me where the common flu has killed 6 members of the same family.
