Mostly Peaceful
The rioting that happened on the Capitol grounds was conducted by a relative minority of the throngs of peaceful protesters present that day, and the violent attackers included not just right-wing Trump supporters, but also some left wing activists who joined the crowd, and an undetermined number of undercover federal officers. The media has generally treated the entire "date," and everyone who attended the Trump event in Washington D.C., as if it were some sort of criminal conspiracy from beginning to end.
If we had a generally neutral media, the media would be careful not to lump the mostly-peaceful rally attendees and the peaceful protesters in with the violence that happened at the end of the event on the Capitol grounds. The press, if neutral, would also demand to know the extent to which the FBI or other federal officers were planted as undercover agents in the crowd, and what role they played. It would not be the first time that federal agents or their operatives took a controversial part in an event as part of an undercover mission; it's a legitimate question to ask. It's especially relevant since it's been proven that Dept. of Justice and FBI officials conspired against Trump for years, from the time he was a candidate, including an FBI attorney doctoring documents in order to secretly spy on a Trump associate.
Not usually mentioned (though it should be) is that Americans also have the right to enter the Capitol building and watch Congressional proceedings from the gallery. The attendees who were invited into the building by Capitol police had no right to be violent, but they arguably had a legitimate right to enter the building to watch the proceedings.

Read this last night after getting her ping about it on Gab. Worth reading, she nails it. One of the few good journalists left.
RE: if we had a neutral press
///////////////////////////////
You can say I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one.
If you actually look at who “owns” the press, you’ll understand why things are the way they are.
No such thing as a neutral press. Dunno why people ever thought or think ‘press’ should be neutral. They are a business. Nothing else. Whatever brings them money is what they will pimp or push.
The media will continue to spew left wing talking points aka fake news.
Covering up for the crooked is the game and they’re well paid to do it no matter how ridiculous they appear 🤪
The 1/6 incident had more in common with students taking over the administration building than it did with a coup d’etat. Overthrowing the government with flag poles? Please.
They make it sound like the attack on the Gleiwitz Radio Station really was Poland invading Germany.
The press works for the Deep State and the Democrats. They’re all on the same team.
And think about how Antifa and BLM would be treated by a neutral press. The media dispenses low grade, false and malicious propaganda. It’s nothing but trash. Even Al Jazeera lies on a higher level than the media in this country.
if we had a neutral press, jan 6th wouldn’t have happened. ALL SUMMER we were told RIOTING was AOK.
But that only applies to liberals according to press.
Deal with it-won’t change.
“Violent terrorist” is a redundancy to begin with. It is hyperbolic when applied to the events of 1/6 no matter who the players were. Had there been mass casualties due to gunfire, explosions, and the like, then maybe the word “terrorist(s)” would be appropriate. Cruz should have known better than to adopt the language of the left with all its perversions. I’ll let it go since he is a persistent thorn in the side of leftists, but he is paying a price for carelessness. He needs to nail the true instigators, namely the DOJ at the behest of Pelosi, Cheney, and company.
There has never been a neutral press! This current press though just shows how left they are! I only say THANK GOD for PRESIDENT TRUMP for he has brought this to light for the majority of people to see!
WTH is that?
Ted cheney,of,course
Bump.
I’m glad to see that Sharyl is no longer calling what we see as media “mistakes”. That was infuriating to me. The lies were hardly mistakes.
Also, does freedom of the press belong to the press itself, or the people? I feel this is another right that we have lost among equal protection under the law, due process, etc.
> Dunno why people ever thought or think ‘press’ should be neutral. They are a business. <
That’s a fair poInt. A business should be able to conduct itself anyway it sees fit.
On the other hand, the press is not just any business. The Founders realized how important the press was, and mentioned it explicitly in the 1A. How “free” is our press today when it rigidly follows the Democrat party line, and allows for no opposing views?
