Virginia will join other Republican-led states and business groups in challenging Biden administration mandates intended to increase the nation’s COVID-19 vaccination rate once GOP Gov.-elect Glenn Youngkin and Attorney General-elect Jason Miyares take office, the two said in a statement Friday.
“While we believe that the vaccine is a critical tool in the fight against COVID-19, we strongly believe that the Federal government cannot impose its will and restrict the freedoms of Americans and that Virginia is at its best when her people are allowed to make the best decisions for their families or businesses," they said in the joint statement.
Won’t it be over before they take office? The SC is only supposed to take a couple of days to make their decision I believe.
This case is a big one. Wonder how the Supreme Court will equivocate its way out of it?
I suppose that’s true, but it at least puts Virginia on the record against the mandates.
Roberts will probably find a way of saying the mandates are a tax?
But the concern trolls and Democrat plants on here suggest “DUR NO difFERGEns BetWens DeMz and GOPee.”
People in VA are so stupid that many of them blamed Youngkin for a 50 mile traffic stand still on 95 this week. He isn’t Governor for another week.
Northam didn’t call the Nat’l Guard as people froze in their cars for 24+ hours. Nor did he lay sand or salt. All designed to appeal to the dummies of VA that Youngkin is incompetent.
LOL!!!! Now that’s a great one. :)
I forgot to check the ‘This is an excerpt’ box... rest of story at link.
Finally, Virginia has a chance to Let’s Go Brandon!
I see it as throwing a bone to their base. It will make it look as if they stand up for something, while at the same time costing exactly nothing.
Zero political capital spent, no rocking of the boat, no angering of their felow elites.
The cost is simply a joint presser and some hollow words. I'd love to be wrong on this, but my gut says otherwise.
It’s a specialty of repubs, just like introducing bills when they’re in the minority and there’s a dem president.
Yep.
I also meant to to add that Youngkin and his AG elect likely see SCOTUS ruling for the mandates (heck, they probably have inside knowledge that it's a slam dunk), so they can now safely get out in front of the issue. The timing of their statement pretty much says that to me.
Regards,
Can Roberts, pull it out of his wahzoo and, call it a tax?
I'm sure this is what you meant to say.
I don’t know if it’s really fair to criticize these two men over actions they have no authority to take before Jan. 12th? I criticized an education appointment last week and I praise this decision this week. I’m just glad to see my old home state (I lived in Hampton Roads when a kid) looking a little more red.
Yes, I noticed that little piece of propaganda slid into the screed.
Not “stupid”. Contrived.
Liberal PTB push the narrative that it is the Repubs fault, as it’s so close to inaugural time, they can get lots of fools to assume that’s true, esp. outside VA. It’s like the “I can see Russia from my house” lie. Just stroke it a bit and it’s believable enough to be useful.
Good. Time to destroy the democrat party.
