He is an assistant professor. This is his ticket to advancement in the academic world. He doesn’t care whether what he says is correct, as long as it gets him a promotion.

In 1942, MGM released a short film on Glacier and Waterton National Parks in which it said that the earth has been warming since the last ice age, and will continue to do so IF THERE IS NO CLIMATIC CHANGE.
Then in 1953, RKO released a movie THE SEA AROUND US based on a book by Rachel L. Carson, of later Silent Spring fame which said the following....
“Commentator: It has been established beyond all reasonable doubt that the great Arctic change of climates started somewhere about 1900 and has spread so rapidly that small glaciers have already disappeared, and the big ones are melting at a startling rate.”
It then plants the fear of the seas rising 100 feet at that time.
Of course this was BEFORE the COMING ICE AGE hysteria of the 1970s.
