Why did he do it? Why did New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo doom up to 15,000 seniors to death by pushing COVID patients into ursing homes rven though the USNS Comfort hospital ship was in New York Harbor and thousands more hospital beds were largely unoccupied in a Javits Center that had been converted by President Trump into a fuly functional hospital? Yes, he didn't want to give Trump credit - it would connflict wuth the thewme of the self-serving book he was writing. Bur whenever a crime is committed, in this case arguably criminally negligent manslaughter, the answer is to follow the money.
Hospitals like pating customers with real insurance nd real money. They dob't want their beds occupied with Medicare and Medicaid patients.Perhaps iit was theit campaign cash that persuaded Cuomo to look the other way as seniors were sent to their deaths. The record shows he accepted reelection cash from a hospital association and then gave immunity to those who operate nursing home:

From the beginning people said follow the money. I have no idea where why or how but there was no excuse for what he did other than greed or utter incompetency.
Not only denying President Trump credit for saving lives but blaming him for the murders.
