The West Is Burning Down Before Our Eyes: If Western democracies can morph into being like Communists over a virus, what can’t they do?

Perhaps nothing has done more to expose the authoritarian tendencies of many “democratic” leaders throughout the world than COVID-19. Australia has perhaps been the most visible example, with numerous viral videos showing police viciously beating people for transgressions as small as not wearing a mask in public. Then there are the COVID concentration camps where people are forced into multi-week confinement — even if they aren’t positive for the virus.

The scenes out of Europe are hardly better. Today, a video emerged that is so brutal that you’d think it was filmed in mid-’30s Germany. It comes from Amsterdam, and involves police assaulting people and attacking them with dogs.

If you can’t watch the video, what it shows is a dog latching onto a man’s arm, while police beat him (and others) with batons for “breaking” COVID restrictions. Worse, once the man is on the ground, arm bent back, and likely injured, the police just continue to hit him instead of ordering the dog to release him. As the scene unfolds, other police officers gather around to block the view of cameras filming the incident.

It was an absolutely disgusting spectacle, and it happened in a nation that is ostensibly a “free” democracy. Yet, these Western countries aren’t operating as such. Rather, they are mimicking the tactics of communist and fascist nations throughout history, all the while still insisting they hold some moral superiority over the next tin-pot dictator.

But that moral authority is burning down before our eyes, and that’s assuming these nations even had any left after the last two years of draconian, tyrannical, COVID mitigation measures. If Western democracies can morph into the CCP over a virus, what can’t they do?

There will always be the “next crisis” to feed the next power grab, and once you allow authoritarians a taste for total control, they never relinquish it. That’s why those who are fighting back in the streets right now, including that man in that video, are so important. While many on the left in the United States scoff at the idea of individual rights right now, we cease to have a society worth preserving the moment those rights are taken away — no matter what the excuse is.

Here’s the bottom line: You cannot claim to be better than the tyrants when you aren’t actually better than the tyrants. Right now, Western nations that once claimed to be beacons of freedom and prosperity are showing their true colors. That’s not only morally repulsive, but it’s a dangerous situation for the world. China and Russia are more than happy enough to use the moral ambiguity fostered by many of the world’s “democracies” over the last two years to justify their own authoritarian goals.

This didn’t have to happen, but far too many people got far too comfortable with the idea that their leaders were “different” and could be trusted. But they aren’t different, and now the Overton window has been moved to the point where public beatings for not wearing an ineffective facemask or daring to exit one’s home are now seen as acceptable and necessary.

Decades of built trust and moral authority in the West have been flushed down the toilet. And for what? To combat an airborne virus we can’t control anyway? One can only hope this represents a wake-up call for enough people that some ground can be retaken.

Also spewing from the profiteering medical-industrial complex laughing all the way to the bank with the ChiComs. There are contingencies and protocols for such actual emergencies, and this ain't it. They're making up policy as they go since this has now devolved into a big game of move-countermove, a base struggle of will between government and various groups of people including whole geographic regions that looks to continue even after threat from any virus is long gone. I'm seeing steady escalation into divisive and destructive brinkmanship yet to come. The threat to the nation from that aspect is a real one that outstrips any alleged biological menace.

— “The threat to the nation from that aspect is a real one that outstrips any alleged biological menace.”

That seems most correct in my view also.

As I write with friends around the world, and simply show them the actual percentage “official” dead against their populations, and according to those “official” sources, they are shocked to find their own nations are also in the grip of that “threat” which is not the actual virus event, small in comparison to the perturbation of whole economies and people's lives.

You wrote, “...looks to continue even after threat from any virus is long gone.” I think that has been true for a very long time already. The “pandemic” was a construct, and game. By the numbers as I write, the “official” count comes to just about 25 one-hunredths of one percent.

Been over for a long time, except for the allied media and state agenda, a medical-industrial complex.

Keep up that correspondence, those communications going. Too many people running around "what do we do?!" - whatever you're able, is what. Death by a thousand paper cuts to the tyrants, the scammers.

That is my aim. For friends in Europe, I have been quoting them various national numbers to show how the hysteria is bogus. Slowly my circle is “getting it.”

Don't forget these quotes as well:

"...at a certain stage in the development of democracy, it first welds together the class that wages a revolutionary struggle against capitalism -- the proletariat -- and enables it to crush, smash to smithereens, wipe off the face of the earth the bourgeois, even the republican-bourgeois, state machine -- the standing army, the police and the bureaucracy -- and to substitute for it a more democratic state machine, but a state machine nevertheless, in the shape of the armed masses of workers who develop into a militia in which the entire population takes part."

--The State and Revolution by Vladimir Lenin

"...the Social-Democrat’s [Communist's] ideal should not be the trade union secretary, but the tribune of the people, who is able to react to every manifestation of tyranny and oppression, no matter where it appears, no matter what stratum or class of the people it affects; who is able to generalise all these manifestations and produce a single picture of police violence and capitalist exploitation; who is able to take advantage of every event, however small, in order to set forth Mb>before all his socialist convictions and his democratic demands, in order to clarify for all and everyone the world-historic significance of the struggle for the emancipation of the proletariat."

--What Is to Be Done? by Vladimir Lenin

And while we're at it, might as well give special mention to the French Revolution, which formed the basis of democracy, and not in a good way, both quotes being from Maximilian Robespierre:

"Only a democratic or republican government— these two words are synonyms despite the abuses in common speech—because an aristocracy is no closer than a monarchy to being a republic...Democracy is a state in which the sovereign people, guided by laws which are of their own making, do for themselves all that they can do well, and by their delegates do all that they cannot do for themselves...Now, what is the fundamental principle of popular or democratic government, that is to say, the essential mainspring which sustains it and makes it move? It is virtue. I speak of the public virtue which worked so many wonders in Greece and Rome and which ought to produce even more astonishing things in republican France—that virtue which is nothing other than the love of the nation and its laws. But the French are the first people of the world who have established real democracy, by calling all men to equality and full rights of citizenship; and there, in my judgment, is the true reason why all the tyrants in league against the Republic will be vanquished."

"Terror is only justice: prompt, severe and inflexible; it is then an emanation of virtue; it is less a distinct principle than a natural consequence of the general principle of democracy, applied to the most pressing wants of the country."

Emphasis mine. In fact, Marx was directly inspired by the Reign of Terror when forming Communism as yet another extension of democracy.

Noted Robespierre’s dig at the USA, for demonstrating that there is a distinction between “democracy” and “republic”. That was demonstrated further via Wilson’s equating of democracy with socialism.
