On the other hand it doesn’t mean they aren’t.
Take Chance the Gardner, aka Chauncy Gardiner, a simple-minded man whose world has been defined by what he has seen on television and observed in the gardener. It turns out a simpleton in a well tailored suit with a firm handshake can dupe the powerbrokers in Washington D.C.. Thus they take Chance to be some sort of savant even though what he says is complete nonsense.
Quite the allegory for our time.
The Deep State roots run deep so it will take a very, very deep frost to kill them.
As long as the roots are not severed, all is well.
Still it’s New Year’s Eve…a new year, new opportunities; we may as well dream.

"It's for sure a white man's world in America. Look here: I raised that boy since he was the size of a piss-ant. And I'll say right now, he never learned to read and write. No, sir. Had no brains at all. Was stuffed with rice pudding between th' ears. Shortchanged by the Lord, and dumb as a jackass. Look at him now! Yes, sir, all you've gotta be is white in America, to get whatever you want. Gobbledy-gook!"
Those who wonder are not lost.
What Chance said is that growth happens in the spring,,,in the garden. And in fact, American economic growth slows during the summer because of vacations. With the return of winter, everybody returns to work because there is nothing better to do. Thusly the spring earnings reports are usually positive. Of course if he had said, lower the tax rates and get rid of excessive rules and regulations then he would have been a Ronald Reagan or a Donald Trump spokesman and Hollywood would have had a temper tantrum.
I feel fairly certain that I am on the wrong planet. People here are just weird.
Maybe it’s you?
It doesn’t seem to be. Just look at current events. Do they seem right to you?
Chauncey was a former gardener. Joe Biden was a former long haul truck driver. Same dementia, different resume.
They seem perfectly normal and proper to me. They don’t to you?
