The harbor is full of seals and sea lions. The harbor is just south of the pit. We go upbto Morro Bay all tge time. Just north of the Pit by about a mile is an off leash dog beach. Its entrance is by Torro Road. The water is shallow for a long way out. There’s usually 30 to 50 dogs playing in the water and beach in that area.

2 years ago when we were there a surfer had a chunk taken out of their board by a shark. They closed the beach. They say that the sharks mistake the surfers for seals and sea lions.

“a surfer had a chunk taken out of his board by a shark.” Brutal area. Lots of sharks nearby, especially in the winter. As they say in the area, “You only go surfing when you have to.”
