When this really does occur, the former Muslim has to be extremely careful who they allow to know about this apparent change of faith. Even if the change took place some 40 years ago, be careful! Your younger Muslim relatives may still view Apostasy as the excuse they need to make somebody bleed.

Christians who have a 2nd Amendment don’t turn the other cheek; they protect their families. The Bible says “He who provides not for his own is worse than an infidel” (yes, the Bible uses that word!)
Protecting one’s own from bloodthirsty savages definitely falls under that rubric.

I can turn the other cheek for insults against me.
I cannot do it for someone else nor do I think we are expected to just roll over and take physical abuse and assault.
I know some folks who were missionaries to a closed muslim country at one time.
They said the biggest thing that turns people in those countries against islam is sharia law.
The average person there HATES it.
Data are scarce, because conversion carry a death sentence.
So the whole thing is covered in veil of secrecy, quite decentralized and definitely not to be published.
