It’s feather and hens day around here.
So, with apologies to Robert Herrick, allow me to say:
Gather ye eggs while ye may.
Old time is still a-flying;
And this same egg that smiles today
Tomorrow will be fryin’
Let’s see some Christmas Day breakfast recipes from you slackers: for goodness sake there’s only 3 days to make our plans! I’ve posted my Pear Gruyere Strata a zillion times already, there must be other festive Christmas breakfast make-ahead dishes out there. Let’s see them. Otherwise we’ll be stuck noshing Grinch kabobs again.

My Christmas Day plan is an all-day smorgasbord with cookies, snack crackers, chips, dip, cheese fondue, chocolate fondue, lunch meats, cheeses, veggies, and candies.
We tried this last year instead of a big afternoon Christmas dinner and it was a huge hit for my family..and let me relax a bit more.
I AM still trying to figure out what to do about breakfast, though...
FYI - Your pictures aren’t loading on my iPhone.
The problem could be on my end but I don’t think so.
We gas a Butterball “Natural” turkey for thanksgiving, it was rather good.
Though about it.... nay.
Our “tradition” even before I saw that Christmas movie is to go walking down in Old Williamsburg and then over to a Chinese buffet of which there are two very good ones locally to choose from.
But since I’m in recovery from my latest in a series of gravity defying experiments, we’ll be sticking close to the abode.
Bone-in Beef shanks maybe. Or fusion asian bits and pieces. Pot stickers, noodles, beef, relishes, maybe some finely dressed out borscht.
New years... beans & barley, of course but beans and oatmeal ain’t bad either.
🥁
Bacon, eggs, hash browns, griddlecakes with pure maple syrup, coffee, fresh-squeezed orange juice. Simple pleasures. :-)
My daughter started us on a Christmas breakfast tradition.
Waffles made with brownie mix.
She eats the hot brownie waffle with vanilla ice cream on top.
She is 26 so what the hell.
They loaded well on my iPhone.
I AM still trying to figure out what to do about breakfast, though...
Caribbean Jerk Shrimp...and beer.
This allows me to indulge a bit on Christmas by fasting the day before and the day after. (I do the same thing for Thanksgiving).
I fast pretty regularly anyway, so it isn't that difficult, but I understand it may seem a bit draconian to most people.
Merry Christmas everyone.
One Christmas day served Grand Marnier French Toast.
Easy, tasty, and a big hit with all. Rather than a crispy
French Toast, more like a ‘bread pudding’, and the Grand Marnier can be substituted by orange juice (your choice).
This site will certainly give you recommendations for special Christmas Breakfasts, Bed and Bath On Line:

Merry Christmas!

Might I suggest a breakfast casserole...keep it simple and easy on you.
Merry Christmas
I dont have a pic hosted nor is it Christmas yet but I did go on a noteworthy kitchen rampage on Monday.
Caramel Apple Cheese Blintz pancake with skillet breakfast.
Already used up 20 eggs!
A nice egg casserole you make up the night before then bake in the morning? Or just some muffins and fruit?
