U.S. House Rep Lauren Boebert (R-CO) recently introduced a bill called the “We’re Not Paying You To Break Our Laws Act” to block payments to illegal immigrant families allegedly separated under former President Donald Trump.
In a press release, Boebert explained, “In Biden’s America, it is better to be a criminal than a law enforcement officer. Border Patrol agents may be fired because of Biden’s vaccine mandate for federal employees, but illegal aliens get a free pass into our country and could receive a $450,000 check.”
“For contrast, the highest-paid Border Patrol agents make less than half that in yearly salary after 20 years of service,” Boebert lamented.
Boebert then insisted, “I’ve had enough of the Biden regime’s madness, so I introduced the We’re Not Paying You to Break Our Laws Act to restore sanity and the rule of law.”
“We should be putting Americans first, not criminals!” Boebert declared.
In a tweet where she shared a Washington Times article on the legislation, Boebert said, “Pay $450,000 of USA taxpayer $$$ to each illegal immigrant separated at the border? No way!”

The bill reads:
No amounts may be made available from the Treasury for the payment of any settlement agreement filed in the United States District Court for the District of Ari2 zona in A.I.I.L. v. Sessions, 4:19–CV–00481, or any substantially similar civil action brought by an individual as a result of an action taken to enforce the memorandum of the Attorney General entitled ‘‘Zero-Tolerance for Offenses Under 8 U.S.C. §1325(a)’’, and dated April 6, 2018.
Previously, we referenced the Wall Street Journal and reported:
The United States Government has officially lost its collective mind. You heard me right. Yes, we do opinion news, but many may agree that that is a factually correct statement. Under the Biden/Harris regime, likely pressured by immigration pushers and radicals like U.S. Rep Ilhan Omar and others, is looking to actually give money to people who broke our laws.
Not only is the Biden administration not closing the borders and deporting all people who come here illegally, but he is also looking into seeing how much of our hard-earned tax dollars he can give some of this. It’s not a chump change amount, either.
Families allegedly separated under the Trump admin, who came to the United States illegally, may get $450,000 each from the Biden/Harris regime. This is more money than most American families who follow the law even have after decades of hard work.
Biden has not denied that potential payments may be made, although he has suggested that the amount of money would be less than that.
While it is unlikely that Boebert will be able to get the bill passed with the current make-up of the House, it is something that may get passed if Republicans can gain back control after the 2022 midterm elections.
Exactly. Many Americans have short attention spans. Keep this issue front and center. Especially as we get closer to election day 2022. People should also be reminded of Afghanistan as we get closer to election day 2022.
“Have to shake my head at some of the comments about this article. So what if it’s grandstanding? At least she’s keeping this crazy issue in the spotlight”.
You’re exactly right.
Very disgusting, and has been going on as a legal looting of the system to fund leftists the world over.
Never those on the right but only the leftists.

I like the offensive nature of this. McCarthy should say he’ll pass it day one in 2023.
This near half a million $ closely approximates that which is presented to the heirs of US Service Members killed on active duty. Assuming they paid in $25. a month insurance premiums. Biden’s actions are disgraceful.
Thanks! Strategies are different when you’re on defense than when on the offense.
A bill like this should never come up, in a form like this, when the Pubbies are in the majority. Hopefully more substantial legislation would be on the table.
