Still calling BS on this story. The statement attributed to a Marshal would be a crime to disclose. Plus this is a state court matter. There shouldn’t be any US Marshals even in the building

Agree- the title is linking two separate events- the release of a statement by the Marshall and Prosibiac’s tweet.

BTW- BlackFemaleArmyColonel, a belated Happy Veterans Day to you.

Well, there are plenty of reasons a US Marshal might be in a state courthouse. To testify as a witness, to escort a witness or defendant who is in federal custody, to serve a federal or interstate warrant, or to assist local law enforcement on some matter. He may even be there because Kenosha is anticipating civil unrest after the verdict and the US Marshals are one federal entity that can be called to assist with civil unrest, like we saw Trump do in 2020.

Here in Missouri in the state courts they call all of the court security personnel “marshals”.

If that’s the case these jurors are disqualified. They are allowing non trial, outside forces to influence them. Bring the first two alternates.

Agreed. I’ve tried several high profile jury trials, and only saw a hint somewhat like this only once - and it proved to be incorrect.

He said they’re combing efforts with feds. The judge has had interstate threats. That alone is enough to warrant Marshal Service assistance. No it isnt common but it is certainly plausible there’s one on scene that is aware of threats/ jurors reactions to threats

My main issue with this is that IF a marshal is there, they never would’ve leaked that to anyone they didn’t trust (i.e. other officials with privilege to know, maybe local ones). I feel certain they are not the direct source to Jack. I think it’s another official from inside who got the info from the marshal. IF a marshal was involved.
I can tell you first hand Marshals are the least mouthy of all the federal agents. At least in my experience. Well maybe besides an undercover DEA. Ha!
