If you listen to leftists, they'll endlessly repeat the assertion that Jan 6 was meant to overthrow the government. I cannot remember the last time a government was overthrown by a ragtag collection of unarmed people. Those participating in the protests have been arrested, many for the thinnest of accusations, and are in fact political prisoners. They are subject to inhumane conditions and frequently kept in solitary confinement for weeks.
Julie Kelly of American Greatness has followed all of this this closely and documented the lies told about Jan 6 and spread by the left wing media.
Revolver News has done a great job covering Ray Epps, who clearly incited the crowd to enter the Capitol on Jan 5. Epps was an FBI most wanted figure until July 1, when he suddenly disappeared from the Jan 6 Most Wanted list.
Remember that the FBI participated in the alleged plot to kidnap MI Gov. Gretchen Whitmer. I have no doubt they participated in the Jan 6 protests. They may been instrumental in making sure the protesters gained entry to the Capitol. Here's why

Naturally, Politico framed the "breach" as being "tense but largely nonviolent." The DOJ stalled the release of the footage and for good reason. It undermines the narrative. The Politico article states that the cops backed off because of a report of "shots fired" but you'll note in the botoom video that they hardly appear to be concerned about any shots being fired. And there's the problem of the cops unlocking the doors for the protesters.
Tom Caldwell, a disabled Navy veteran, spent 49 days in solitary confinement despite never entering the Capitol. OTOH Ray Epps, who provoked the breaching of the Capitol, walks untouched.

AG Garland won't answer the question about whether there government agents among the protesters but defense lawyers have learned that there were FBI agents in the crowd.

Anyone watching on January 6 knew that this was the case. It was a bunch of useful idiots being whipped into a frenzy by agents provocateur and then abetted by a sotto voce order to let enough of them them into the Capitol to create a cause celebre. It was the most pathetic “insurrection” in human history.

Unarmed people have toppled governments in Poland, India, Romania, and etc.
You could also say that unarmed people toppled governments in the UK in 2016 and in the US that same year.
