They ran it for years with NO leaks.

Every conservative in the country was aware of true facts. Only dims and rinos spouted the Russia Russia crap. It was never a secret. It was never covered up even though the national news media tried to cover it with lies.
Even the secret server with a direct connection to Russian interests was immediately exposed as a lie. They could not even keep that from being exposed.
There are dozens of examples of their incompetence but listing them is a waste of time. If you could grasp it, you would have already.

The Russian hoax was conceived and carried out by interested parties. Every single participant stood to gain from it by one way or another. Even though it was in the best interest of every one of them that the plot be kept secret, they could not keep it a secret. We all knew.
Christopher Steele was exposed as a liar almost immediately, for example.
The difference is that in the case of the supposedly dead pilot, a majority of the people who were witnesses had/have absolutely nothing to gain from keeping it a secret. Whereas FAA employees and Delta employees might have orders from management to keep quiet, they are only a small part of those who were involved or affected or witnesses.

For instance at the moment the crew declared an emergency there were undoubtedly other aircraft on the same frequency...there are people on the ground, in their homes, who track flights and monitor ATC for amusement.
It is impossible to know who and where all of them are.
And I already mentioned the emergency crews that would meet the aircraft.
