“Have you received special revelation from God Himself.”
No. I simply use the gifts he gave me, a brain to think with and free will to go explore, do my own research and thus come to my own conclusions and interpretations. As I explained in an earlier post, Pauls statement in Corinthians 5:11, which I am certain you believe are actully Gods words, show quite a lot of cognitive dissonance. Since I don’t believe God suffers from cognitive dissonance I do not believe them to be God’s words or commands, I believe them to be Paul’s, and to be perfectly honest I don’t give a damn what Peter supposedly said. First of all, Peter did not write the Gospel of Peter; Paul did not write the Gospel of Paul; none of the Apostles wrote the Gospels that are attributed to them, the Gospels were written many decades or even centuries after the events supposedly took place.
Peter, Paul and the rest of the Apostles were not holy men, they were just men subject to the same temptations and foibles and bad behavior as all other men and to worship them and their words seems like worshipping false idols to me.
Possessing the free will and the kind of brain God created human beings with allows us to think and reason things out using logic and our gained experiences, you should try it some time.
“Faith can move mountains Milt, but it can’t beat a faster draw....”
Hardly. He did not admonish the church not to keep company with the sexually immoral that did not pretend to be believers in Christ, he admonished the CHURCH brethren not to keep company with people who professed to be Christians, and yet continue to wallow in sexual immorality.
That being said, we have no common ground on which to discuss theology or Biblical doctrines. You pick and choose which Bible.verses are true and I accept all of them to be true. Ce la vie.
You are the master of your own religion. Good luck with that. I honestly hope you don’t get too many converts.
So, you don’t believe the Bible? How about the Torah?
