The Bible is not the word of God?

Sorry pal, I quit reading right there.

In all fairness, I don’t think that conservative Christians object to homosexuality any more than they do Islam or Judaism or communism. As long as the homosexuals do not interfere with Christian doctrine, education or practices.

If they do interfere, it is entirely another matter.

Interesting that you compare humans to flies. Also, you’re implying a false dilemma, that picking a fight is the sole alternative to what you call “dignity and respect”.

If the Father calls such people, then they will work to overcome their behavior. If not, then it isn’t their time yet and they are to be avoided lest their sin rub off on anyone.

"He explained that natural law theory and the Church’s interpretation of the creation of man and woman in Genesis incorrectly form the basis for Catholicism’s disapproval of gay relationships. "

It is the reading of Scripture that stands in the way of the LGBTA world, and thus the inordinate amount of labor prohomosexual polemicists expend attempting to negate its condemnation of sodomy. HOMOSEXUAL RELATIONS and the BIBLE (extensive, by the grace of God).

God made man and women distinctively different yet uniquely compatible and complementary, and only joined them together in marriage - as the Lord Jesus Himself specified (Mt. 19:4–6) - and Scripture only condemns homosexual relations wherever they are manifestly dealt with.

Yet there is still room at the cross for all who will come to God in repentance and faith, and trust in the Divine Son of God sent by the Father, the risen Lord Jesus, to save them on His account, by His sinless shed blood, and thus be baptized and live for Him. Acts 10:36-47

Peter said that the writings of Paul were scripture

We can take them to the bank

2 Pet 3:15-16
15 And count the patience of our Lord as salvation, just as our beloved brother Paul also wrote to you according to the wisdom given him,

16 as he does in all his letters when he speaks in them of these matters. There are some things in them that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other Scriptures.

So what other parts of the Bible have you chosen to reject or ignore? And on what basis have you so chosen? Have you received special revelation from God Himself.

So how can one claim to be a Christian, a conservative, and a classicist?

Can a person be considered a Christian if they believe in a God but not any of the hundreds of religions that supposedly believe in a God?

Should Christians attend gay marriage of relative?

I kept reading after that. It was strange.

Boy you get some strange doctrine here sometimes.

I think to deny the scriptures as God’s word is to undermine the Christian Faith. If not the Bible, then where is our faith founded?

Feelings?

No.

It would be better to attend a Pagan traditional wedding than a “Christian” wedding that celebrates sin.

I had a good friend who was gay and we would visit. He asked me if I thought it was a sin and stated that was my interpretation. I shared that I have my sins I need to work on too. I just don’t understand people equating it to the 10 commandments.

Loving the sinner/but not the sin trope just opens an avenue to excuse sin.

God loved us while we were yet sinners.

Jesus lived and ate and walked among sinners that He loved and never once excused the sin.

We can, too.

“Have you received special revelation from God Himself.”

No. I simply use the gifts he gave me, a brain to think with and free will to go explore, do my own research and thus come to my own conclusions and interpretations. As I explained in an earlier post, Pauls statement in Corinthians 5:11, which I am certain you believe are actully Gods words, show quite a lot of cognitive dissonance. Since I don’t believe God suffers from cognitive dissonance I do not believe them to be God’s words or commands, I believe them to be Paul’s, and to be perfectly honest I don’t give a damn what Peter supposedly said. First of all, Peter did not write the Gospel of Peter; Paul did not write the Gospel of Paul; none of the Apostles wrote the Gospels that are attributed to them, the Gospels were written many decades or even centuries after the events supposedly took place.

Peter, Paul and the rest of the Apostles were not holy men, they were just men subject to the same temptations and foibles and bad behavior as all other men and to worship them and their words seems like worshipping false idols to me.

Possessing the free will and the kind of brain God created human beings with allows us to think and reason things out using logic and our gained experiences, you should try it some time.

Tolerating others is not the same as promoting Church wedding for gays.

Church weddings for homosexuals is loving the sin, not the sinner.

Hardly. He did not admonish the church not to keep company with the sexually immoral that did not pretend to be believers in Christ, he admonished the CHURCH brethren not to keep company with people who professed to be Christians, and yet continue to wallow in sexual immorality.

That being said, we have no common ground on which to discuss theology or Biblical doctrines. You pick and choose which Bible.verses are true and I accept all of them to be true. Ce la vie.

You are the master of your own religion. Good luck with that. I honestly hope you don’t get too many converts.

If you thought 36 was weird, you should read 53. But then again, maybe not. I do find it odd that someone can literally reject the authenticity of scripture and yet somehow claim to be a Christian.

I’m not sure exactly what religion our Bible rejecting FRiend believes, but it certainly isn’t Christianity. It’s more or less Fatmanology. He believes what he wants to believe.and disregards the rest. La la la la la la la.

. If you are old like me, you’d know what that means.

Sometimes I just can’t believe some of the stuff I read from long term Freepers. The world has gone crazy and it’s taking a lot of people with it.
