Why Smith & Wesson Dumped Massachusetts For Tennessee
19FortyFive ^ | 9/20/2021 | Peter Suciu

Smith & Wesson Brands Inc. has called Massachusetts home for 170 years, but the company’s CEO said that legislation pending in Beacon Hill could bar the manufacturer from making certain types of firearms – including AR-15 style modern sporting rifles – in the Bay State. As a result, the company decided to move its headquarters and facilities to the Volunteer State, which has stronger support for the Second Amendment as well as a lower cost of living.

This will probably be one of the very few times where I can say with some confidence that the Northerners that will be moving with the company are more than likely going to be a net gain for Conservatives in Tennessee.

I went to school in that part of Massachusetts. Definitely a very big difference, politically from the eastern part of the state, when you remove all the college professor types. Massachusetts seems to have a college or university in every other town for some reason.

But, the western part of the state is filled with blue collar guys that like to get in the woods and hunt deer.

On a side note, Maryville isn’t necessarily a Conservative mecca:

That’s cute. They really think they will be able to make AR’s in the near future anywhere in this county with a Government that has been overthrown.

The United Kingdom also used to have a premiere firearms industry. Now they have just a few due to their own laws.

I am sorry to hear they chose Tennessee over New Hampshire, but we do like the outlook of our fellow Americans in Tennessee so that is not a bad state for Smith and Wesson to move to. But Smith and Wesson would have been welcome here alongside Ruger and Sig Sauer.

Springfield Massachusetts and other towns and cities along the Connecticut river were the birthplace of machining and precision manufacturing in volume in the United States. The history of the companies and their products is well worth reading about, and the Springfield Armory is well worth a visit.

Williamson, Maury and Rutherford counties. Maybe Humphreys. Stay away from Shelby and Davidson counties.

On the other hand, doesn’t it have chiggers?

The correct term is "chegroes."

“My family worked there for a couple of generations.”

Are you going to move South too?

The divide is deepening rapidly, in my opinion.

DC has no respect for the constraints of the Law.

Overthrown by stolen election is not the same thing as occupying it.

They can forget that crap.

What we really need right now is a primer manufacturing company, right here in Texas.

Powder manufacturing would also be good, but it is not as critical right now.
