As to the Aussie covid check-in app, I have never seen any mention of what happened if someone didn’t own a smartphone, and only had a landline.

Most of the Trump signs from the 2020 election are still up in my area. More than a dozen Trump flags flying as well. We rural folks know the truth.
Half the Trump signs in my area have been replaced by “F%#& Biden” flags. LOL.

If everyone refused to check in for three days this crap would end. There aren’t enough police to go to everyone’s door daily. The cops would end it. It just shows what sheep everyone has become.

I’m not disputing what you said, but one thing I’ve noticed in a lot of the videos where the Aussie police are arresting people is the number of police that show up. I am not a “defund the police” person, but there is such a thing as being over-policed, and that may be the case in Australia.

You are correct that the Australjan app cr@p would maybe last three days in populated cities if many refused.
But it would not last that long in rural America. The average 911 response time in my Southern county is about an hour. The county is all woods and narrow roads. Many houses in my neighborhood are set back in private woods and not even visible from the road.
If just ten people in our county forgot to have their phone with them while out doing chores, it would take more than ten hours to check them out, if the sheriff would do it, and if they responded to no 911 calls in between.
And that doesn’t even count the fairly large number of homes with no cell reception. And it doesn’t account for belligerent rednecks who refuse to respond because they want a confrontation with the responder.
Oh, and deer season in those woods starts next week and runs to late January. As one of my distant cousins might say, “Ain’t nobody coming to check on me.”
I, of course, would instantly and cheerfully respond. If I get better cell reception.

I’m not sure they have actual citizens in Australia anymore. But I’m sure the ruling elite thinks their subjects are deplorable.

Yup, same here, only our response time is about 30 mins.
