Your daughter cannot observe the alternate universe where she was unvaxxed and contracted Covid - so she doesn't know how that would have turned out.
It could have been exactly the same.
Likewise the unvaxxed daughter-in-law may have had exactly the same outcome had she been vaxxed.
People who say that "the vaccine lessens the severity of the disease" are just repeating what they've been told, which is not actual science.

A friend of mine had the exact opposite happen.
Took the shots earlier this year, then contracted a nasty case of china virus she caught from ANOTHER ‘vax’d family member.
She was told by her family doc that he would prescribe NOTHING, except rest/OTC and to return to ER if her symptoms continued to worsen.
They did. But, luckily, she went to a close by urgent care and was prescribed Ivermectin.
She quickly recovered and is taking Ivermectin, on a maintenance basis, to (so far, so good) help with a vascular problem, that was a result of the shots (in the same arm as shots).

how old your daughter?
Any other comorbidities in either person?
other non life threatening but important health differences between the 2 like existing auto-immune issues, heart issues, lung issues or other?
what meds if any were given the 44 year old?
what kind of care is 44 year old getting “standard of care” minimalpatient but get rich quick hospital sort of treatment?
God knows what will hapen to each person, some will pridefully think they are doing the right thing when really they are not. God never said this life (short long full of problems or minimal problems) would be easy, He only said he would see us through. His plan is in action. anytime we think we did some thing right - that is pride. we don’t take even a breath or heart beat without God’s approval. We are nothing good without HIM.

That is a typical case whether you are vaxed or not.
Hospitalization and death is thankfully pretty rare, not that you would know it from watching TV. I know 80+ year olds in poor health who had no problem with it vaxed or not.
The cold viruses can and do progress to pneumonia and wind up killing people. But because a “cold” is defined as a set of symptoms that don’t include pneumonia, these deaths are almost never associated with cold viruses. It’s a matter of semantics.
That is one of the huge problems with COVID — when you look at the Infection Fatality Rate, it warrants a shrug. But when you are immersed in all the gory details of every case, when every night a running tally is kept of the dead and dying, it seems like a massive problem. In fact, there have been flu epidemics this bad and far worse.
Yet when we hear about young healthy people dying of the flu, we shrug because, well, it happens.
People live in fear of COVID because they have been taught to.
And exactly how much early treatment did the unvaxxex get? You don’t have to answer, we know she was told to go home until she couldn’t breathe. What they are doing, by denying early treatment, is criminal.

You better check into that hospital protocol of care before you make that statement. Are they giving her remdesivir?

Remdesivir got pulled during the obola experiments because it shuts down people’s kidney’s almost immediately, then they keep pumping people full of fluid drowning them.
From what I understand Falsey wrote the protocol and this is what they are following if you are unlucky enough to land in the hospital. This chiropractor had his father-in-law murdered in the hospital by this protocol. I suggest watching the whole thing but the part about “the protocol” and Remdesivir starts at the 6:11 mark.
