For many years, the American military was the most respected institution in America. In the seven months of the Biden administration, we’ve learned that the upper reaches of the Pentagon are partisan, corrupt, possibly treasonous, and totally incompetent. The latest evidence of this is General McKenzie’s confession that the military didn’t really kill an “ISIS-K fighter” after Islamists slaughtered 13 American troops. Instead, our military drone attack killed an aide worker, seven children, and two other adults. This is unconscionable and I have a few points to make.
You’re probably familiar with the story already, so I won’t belabor the facts. Here’s General McKenzie making the confession:
A few points, in no particular order:
First: Do you remember back in 2007, when Obama was running for president and he accused the military of “air raiding villages and killing civilians”? Weird, it turns out he was right, not then, but now. Back then, our military tried to avoid killing women and children. Today, our military needed to take a target out for propaganda purposes after the horribly botched withdrawal and subsequent terrorist attack on our troops. So, the Pentagon authorized dropping a bomb on a car filled with water and then told a story to cover for it. Obama corrupted the military, Trump was unable to turn back the tide, and the full rot is both encouraged and revealed under Biden’s incompetent, anti-American “leadership.”

Everyone knew within a day that the strike was botched, but they stalled the “investigation” so the news would be cold, and they could drop it on a Friday news dump.
Too bad the media won’t treat this like they would if Trump had been president.

Within hours of the bombing, the world knew it was a family with children who were killed. But the Pentagon and Milley continues to lie to the world, claiming it was ISIS and there were secondary explosions, when there wasn’t. And we do know the first strike was an empty house, no one was hit yet they continue to tell us an ISIS operative who planned the attack on the Marines was killed there. In fact, the military has lied about this entire operation to everyone from the start. No wonder China is threatening to invade us now. They know we are defenseless
I served in the Navy, my kid is an Army Captain, her husband a former Army Ranger. I’m a big believer in our military..and hate to see what it has become. I pray also for a reversal.
When you’re in a badly run institution, you quickly learn what are the “right” answers and when to bury the “wrong” answers. It’s how you survive at every level. I was outright fired* from one company for not towing the line and sidelined at a different one for the same reason.
* At such a firing, it needs to be as spectacular as they can make it so the others learn the lesson. I knew it was coming because it was the only day when my boss was not drunk as a skunk after lunch. He called me in and loudly called me incompetent. I laughed and whished him luck as I left. The company was raided by the FBI in concert with the Sherriff’s office about two months later. Every employee was interviewed before being allowed to leave. They’d taken out a multi million dollar loan and written themselves huge “bonus” checks, causing the bank to call in the feds when the checks cleared. They all walked because making a “bad business decision” is not a crime. A former employee called me to tell me the news. I still wonder why he did that as they were all too afraid to be seen speaking to me while I worked there.
It’s always that way when Marxists/Communists gain control. Purging the upper echelons of the military is job one, because they can’t gain complete control unless the military is either with them or on the sidelines. Dictators can not rule without the support of the military. One need only look to Venezuela as the latest iteration. Almost as soon as Chavez was installed as President (with Jimmy Carter’s blessing) he called in the Cubans to get everything set up correctly. Venezuela is the new Cuba.

For this to be a lie, the military would have to have known at the time of the strike that they were targeting civilians.
And don’t forget that “Drone Strikes” are central to Joe Biden’s concept of “over the horizon” intervention should that become necessary. This particular drone strike was a disaster because of the chaos going on in Afghanistan during the withdrawal. It’s not going to get any better when we have essentially zero human assets operating in the more remote areas of the Stan. If we’re going to be launching drone strikes at cell phones that the NSA identifies with an ISIS operative to a 90% probability, don’t be surprised if we get a significant number of disasters like this one.

A slight differ. “Or should have known that based on the latest images/videos that there was a high probability that collateral damage of innocents would occur.”
They don’t even need to know for certain.
So if I go across the street and blow up a neighbor’s house killing them, all I have to do is say, “It was a mistake an I am truly sorry, but I am responsible” and everything is ok? The “general” that accepted that accountability should now accept death by firing squad. The next “general’ in charge might be more careful. How can the US do this with NO PENALTY? (Yes, but he was following orders? Well, then instruct the firing squad to aim little higher.)
Well said...I was active duty from 76-84, at the advent of the All Volunteer Force. I, too am a big believer in the military, it's not what I remember.
The jobs I've had in civilian life, though not inconsequential, do not compare to the positions I had in the Army...platoon leader, battery commander, etc.
I also pray for a reversal. I was a USAF NCO and my son is a USAF 1st Lieutenant. 👍
They admit it after they’ve been caught.
They were asked why this ‘mystery terrorist’ was that they took out, and they wouldn’t answer.
...and that was because if they dropped a name, then that person would simply put out a video saying “I’m here!”.
So it was OBVIOUS that some type of scam was going on.
