Formally, “Texas” is The University of Texas at Austin. As al_c notes, there is no UT Arlington football team. Yes, UTA typically refers to UT Arlington, but the comment was based on UT referring to U Tenn Knoxville, and that U Texas needed to fix their abbreviation. UT Arlington is, after all, part of the U Texas system.

My dad, an Austin graduate engineer back in the early 50’s, went to a UT-UT (University of Tennessee ) football game. In the mud. Both teams in Orange and White. Both muddy. Both wet, cold, and miserable.
Terrible game, but so bad and so miserable with so many errors it became funny.
