For me, it crystallizes the Orwellian irony, dichotomy, disconnect, call-it-what-you-will of Democrat/Leftist/Progressive's complete disregard for individual human suffering. Wrapping themselves in the Shroud of Turin while proclaiming the goal of creating heaven on earth, they bring nothing but death and destruction.
Funny how Angel of Death Cuomo gets his Emmy Award revoked for sexual abuse and harassment of about a dozen women yet there is not a peep about the 15-18,000 or more (we'll never get an honest accounting of the real number) frail, elderly nursing home residents he murdered by intentionally exposing them to the Chinese Lung AIDS.
Bookend what Millay said with this pearl of wisdom from Stalin himself:
"The death of one man is a tragedy. The death of millions is a statistic."
This comment was sent to me, i’ll share it anonymously:
There is a reason our government-run schools no longer teach civics, or history.
Why would we want the people to have ideas; to think about things like unalienable rights, liberty, freedom, limited government, separation of powers, or the duties and responsibilities of citizens?
As Joseph Stalin said, “Ideas are more powerful than guns. We would not let our enemies have guns, why should we let them have ideas?”
“We want one class of persons to have a liberal education, and we want another class of persons, a very much larger class of necessity in every society, to forgo the privilege of a liberal education and fit themselves to perform specific difficult manual tasks.” - Woodrow Wilson
The first of the seven core principles enshrined in our constitution is the Founders’ vision of “popular sovereignty.” A philosophy hated by collectivists.
The American’s Creed (William Tyler Page – 1917): “I believe in the United States of America as a government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed, a democracy in a republic, a sovereign Nation of many sovereign States; a perfect union, one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice, and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes. I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it, to support its Constitution, to obey its laws, to respect its flag, and to defend it against all enemies.” - Accepted by the U.S. House of Representatives April 3, 1918.
As explained in the Declaration of Independence; government derives its just powers from the consent of the governed. [meaning the whole of the people, E Pluribus Unum]
As Abraham Lincoln (Republican) explained; ‘government of, by and for the people.’
Or, as Adlai Stevenson (Democrat) explained: “As citizens of this democracy, you are the rulers and the ruled, the law-givers and the law-abiding, the beginning and the end.”
Or as Ronald Reagan (Democrat later a Republican) explained:
“And this idea that government is beholden to the people, that it has no other source of power except the sovereign people, is still the newest and the most unique idea in all the long history of man’s relation to man.
“This is the issue of this election: whether we believe in our capacity for self-government or whether we abandon the American Revolution and confess that a little intellectual elite in a far distant capitol can plan our lives for us better than we can plan them ourselves.”
Why do we let the Deep State drag us down into illogical circular arguments that evade the central issue?
You can’t argue with stupid goes the cliché. Or evil.
It’s not about masks, it’s about who has the power to decide; We the People or our government masters?
It doesn’t matter whether masks are “effective” or if they are useless.
Does the government possess the unlimited power to compel the people to do anything some random bureaucrat deems “effective?”
That is the core issue.
Is that the test of the limits of government power; a bureaucratic, Kafkaesque determination that something is effective or not effective?
‘Oh, the government can’t make me do that because it is not efficacious, but if it was effective they surely could mandate I do it.’ ‘My government (Big Brother) loves me.’
Such irrational logic is absurdly fallacious.
“Good intentions will always be pleaded for every assumption of authority. It is hardly too strong to say that the Constitution was made to guard the people against the dangers of good intentions. There are men in all ages who mean to govern well, but they mean to govern. They promise to be good masters, but they mean to be masters.” – Daniel Webster
‘We need not fear those who do evil in the name of evil, but heaven protect us from those who do evil in the name of good.’ – attributed to Greek philosopher Herodotus (c. 484 – c. 425 BC)
I do not subscribe to the movement of people who consider themselves to be “sovereign citizens.”
I am not “anti-vaxxer,” I’ve taken almost every vaccine known to medical science (including Small Pox; Salk, Sabine and other vaccines for Poliomyelitis) and I believe I am healthier for it.
If you believe any of the vaccines would be beneficial for you, by all means please take it. I will do nothing to deter, or even to discourage, you from doing so.
I don’t have any will or motive either to compel you to take it, or not to take it.
And I grant you no authority over me or my medical decisions nor to interfere with my informed consent.
I am anti-experimental gene therapy (mRNA) posing as a vaccine dispensed under emergency use authorization (EUA). I am not a lab rat.
I am not anti-mask. If you believe a mask provides some level of protection against Coronavirus, by all means please wear one.
I believe it prudent to wear a mask, sometimes.
For example, when undergoing chemotherapy and my immune system was suppressed I often wore a mask in public. I didn’t expect everybody else also to wear a mask because it was their duty to protect me.
Our Creator endowed us with unalienable rights.
“The whole of the Bill [of Rights] is a declaration of the right of the people at large or considered as individuals... It establishes some rights of the individual as unalienable and which consequently, no majority has a right to deprive them of.” - Albert Gallatin
If we have bad government (kakistocracy) occupied by tyrannical politicians and incompetent bureaucrats implementing law and policy for improper purposes, it is because we have not fulfilled our responsibilities as citizens; most of us don’t even understand our responsibilities much less fulfill them.
Informed consent in a free country permits you (and me) the right to choose.
You do not have the authority to make me wear a mask predicated upon the false premise that all of us must wear masks or none of us are protected. I am not responsible for your protection, you are.
Wear your mask, take the jab, stay home – but leave me alone.
If I get sick, you are not responsible for me.
If you get sick, it is not my fault. It’s probably not your fault either.
Look up the word ‘idiopathic.’
That poor child David Vetter had to live in a bubble, that doesn’t mean everybody has to live in a bubble. https://primaryimmune.org/story-david-vetter
If I choose to jump out of a perfectly good airplane (with a parachute) I will.
If I choose to smoke cigars and to drink single malt Scotch - I will.
If I choose to ride motorcycles - I will.
If I choose to wear a mask for my personal protection - I will.
The constitution conveys no authority to a tyrannical government, or to another individual, to protect me from myself, even if my behavior is self-destructive.
It is the essence of liberty.
It is the essence of limited government.
The idea that masks are effective only if everybody wears a mask is illogical, fallacious.
A dangerous ideology, Orwellian Groupthink.
The premise that vaccines (any vaccine) are effective only if everyone is vaccinated is
worse than a false premise, it’s damnable lie.
Sure there is such a thing as ‘herd immunity;’ but a vaccine still should provide individual protection to the person who takes it. Or, it’s no good.
Yellow Fever vaccine protects me from contagious mosquitos, not contagious people.
What makes America great is individualism and the globalists want to morph us into collectivists.
“Individualism vs. Collectivism: Our Future, Our Choice” - https://www.theobjectivestandard.com/issues/2012-spring/individualism-collectivism/
“The fundamental political conflict in America today is, as it has been for a century, individualism vs. collectivism. Does the individual’s life belong to him—or does it belong to the group, the community, society, or the state? With government expanding ever more rapidly—seizing and spending more and more of our money on “entitlement” programs and corporate bailouts, and intruding on our businesses and lives in increasingly onerous ways—the need for clarity on this issue has never been greater. Let us begin by defining the terms at hand.
“Individualism is the idea that the individual’s life belongs to him and that he has an inalienable right to live it as he sees fit, to act on his own judgment, to keep and use the product of his effort, and to pursue the values of his choosing. It’s the idea that the individual is sovereign, an end in himself, and the fundamental unit of moral concern. This is the ideal that the American Founders set forth and sought to establish when they drafted the Declaration and the Constitution and created a country in which the individual’s rights to life, liberty, property, and the pursuit of happiness were to be recognized and protected.
“Collectivism is the idea that the individual’s life belongs not to him but to the group or society of which he is merely a part, that he has no rights, and that he must sacrifice his values and goals for the group’s “greater good.” According to collectivism, the group or society is the basic unit of moral concern, and the individual is of value only insofar as he serves the group. As one advocate of this idea puts it: “Man has no rights except those which society permits him to enjoy. From the day of his birth until the day of his death society allows him to enjoy certain so-called rights and deprives him of others; not . . . because society desires especially to favor or oppress the individual, but because its own preservation, welfare, and happiness are the prime considerations.”1
“Individualism or collectivism—which of these ideas is correct? Which has the facts on its side?
“Individualism does, and we can see this at every level of philosophic inquiry: from metaphysics, the branch of philosophy concerned with the fundamental nature of reality; to epistemology, the branch concerned with the nature and means of knowledge; to ethics, the branch concerned with the nature of value and proper human action; to politics, the branch concerned with a proper social system.”

I am anti-chaos, I am anti-manufactured crisis. I am anti-pandemic hoax.

“In the end, more than freedom, they wanted security. They wanted a comfortable life, and they lost it all – security, comfort, and freedom. When the Athenians finally wanted not to give to society but for society to give to them, when the freedom they wished for most was freedom from responsibility, then Athens ceased to be free and was never free again.” - Edward Gibbon (1737-1794) (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edward_Gibbon and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_History_of_the_Decline_and_Fall_of_the_Roman_Empire

I am anti-tyranny.
“So long as the people do not care to exercise their freedom, those who wish to tyrannize will do so; for tyrants are active and ardent, and will devote themselves in the name of any number of gods, religious and otherwise to put shackles on sleeping men.” – Voltaire https://www.lawrencewreed.com/memes-quotes/2020/6/15/voltaire-on-tyranny
The United States of America is in dire peril; existential peril.
I believe mandates and COVID passports are unconstitutional.
At least one federal court agrees with me; https://www.jdsupra.com/legalnews/federal-court-there-is-no-pandemic-22431/
Irrespective where it comes from, Coronavirus is real; we need to exercise due caution and to treat the sick using the full array of remedies proved useful.
Don’t lie to me about Hydroxychloroquine and Ivermectin.
Driving to the Piggly Wiggly is dangerous; I wear a seatbelt and obey the rules of the road to mitigate the risks. I carry a spare tire and a jack (and I know how to change a flat tire).
When it’s raining, I use an umbrella. When it’s cold, I dress warmly.
Masks, lockdowns and vaccine mandates have NOTHING to do with genuine public health.
They are measures designed to demand obedience to absolute government tyranny.
COVID-19 does not truly rise to the level of a pandemic; it is economic warfare.
“Revealed: COVID-19 not a pandemic, vaccines provide no protection” - https://freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3986350/posts
In an utterly Orwellian process of redefining language (Newspeak); to pound a square peg into a round hole, in the past year our Machiavellian government has redefined ‘pandemic,’ ‘vaccine’ and ‘gain of function’ among dozens of other terms (look it up) https://www.virology.ws/2009/05/23/who-will-redefine-pandemic/.
I do not trust our government; we’ve caught them in too many lies; I believe government is motivated for improper purposes, evil purposes.
The CDC VAERS database is proved worse than lies; it is government propaganda elevated to the level of fantasy.

I am anti-lies; I am anti-agitprop; I am anti-propaganda.
I fear government tyranny far more than I fear Coronavirus.
So, you want to trust the same inept, corrupt, incompetent totalitarian politicians and bureaucrats who fail again and again to do their duty in compliance with existing rules of law to prescribe that the formula for stopping COVID-19 are masks, lockdowns mandates and enslavement?
You want to trust your life to the same corrupt government that brought us scandal after scandal like “Fast and Furious,” “Benghazi” and the “Tuskegee Experiments?”
And worse, they lied about them.

Fauci is a fabulist. Fauci is a criminal. Fauci is not the ultimate “decider.”
Fauci is an overpaid un-elected entrenched bureaucrat; he has neither the legal nor moral authority to mandate my personal healthcare decisions.
“Now, the law of separation of powers is notoriously confused, uncertain and unpredictable. Justice Brandeis was correct when he said—and I quote—“The doctrine of separation of powers was adopted by the Convention of 1787, not to promote efficiency but to preclude the exercise of arbitrary power.” But if that doctrine has a little clearer meaning, it does not do the job, and much of the uncertainty comes from the text itself.” - https://law.stanford.edu/stanford-lawyer/articles/the-president-who-would-not-be-king-executive-power-and-the-constitution/
First, the record is clear; Fauci is a strong advocate for dangerous (and allegedly illegal) ‘gain of function’ research (why?); and second, Fauci’s email proves he has been itching to declare something a ‘pandemic’ for a very long time. Why?
Fauci believes an un-elected bureaucrat (himself) has the authority to burn down the barn (i.e., to destroy the American economy) to get rid of the rats.
There are very few rats, the objective of the Deep State is merely to burn down the barn and to blame the rats for the disaster.
Momentarily disregarding the probable sinister origin of the Coronavirus, it matters little exactly what faction of the Deep State cabal Fauci has aligned himself; but it is clear his motive from the outset was to control the global population, not to manage infectious disease but to engineer society.
We better start exposing the Deep State for its real goals; the utter destruction of the USA, its constitution and her people.
“Everything in the State, nothing outside the State, nothing against the State.” Benito Mussolini’s formulation remains one of the most enduring definitions of modern totalitarianism. - https://lapietra.nyu.edu/event/everything-within-the-state-nothing-against-the-state-nothing-outside-the-state-toward-the-history-of-everyday-life-in-fascist-italy/
If we believe the words of the Constitution, that “We the People of the United States…”, “did ordain and establish” this government of the United States of America; and, if we agree with Abraham Lincoln that our government (at all levels) is ‘of, by and for the people;’ then our national demise is the fault of the cultural collapse of “We the People.”
It’s our fault.
Look in the mirror.
“Our destruction, should it come at all, will be from another quarter. From the inattention of the people to the concerns of their government.” - Daniel Webster
The truth is, the Deep State does not care about guns (they care about civilian disarmament), or SUV’s, or urban crime, or manmade climate change, or equal rights, or Juneteenth, or women’s healthcare, or right to choose, or compassion for immigrants, or Black lives, or the economy, or universal healthcare, or education.
All these issues and many more, are simply windmills for us to joust at while they sow dissent in their quest to establish a New World Order one ‘manufactured crisis’ after another.
Global Warming, Green New Deal, Pandemic, Infrastructure Projects, Critical Race Theory, DC Statehood and packing the courts are just tactical avenues of approach to achieve their strategic goal; One World Government by 2030.

We all know what’s going on as plain as the noses on our faces.
Why can’t we turn it off?
In The Federalist Paper #45, James Madison explained that the duties of the new federal government were to be “few and defined.”
To assure maximum individual freedom, ‘We the People’ limit government at all levels to no more authority over us than minimally necessary to assure law and order.
Whether Patrick Henry said it or not; a quotation often misattributed to him states clearly the sentiment of the Founders and the will of the American people: ‘The Constitution is not an instrument for the government to restrain the people, it is an instrument for the people to restrain the government — lest it come to dominate our lives and interests.’
No word, phrase, clause, section, article or concept I am aware of in the US, nor in any state constitution gives government at any level total dominion over the people.
I know of no constitutional provision that permits any instrumentality of government at any level in America to decide who (either business or individual) is “essential;” permitted to work or debarred from working because they are deemed to be non-essential.
There is a BIG PICTURE at play.

Conservatives are people people. Leftists hate you and most everyone else, but they like concepts like “humanity” because they are fuel and fodder for collectivist control of people
Reason is man's means of survival and knowledge. Reason is an attribute of the individual, not the collective.
This reminds me of a skit by Chris Rock about loving black people for some reason.
It goes along with their obsession with groups.
Dems as a rule love the group, but might not like the people.
