This has been studied for years for all sorts of respiratory viruses (rhinovirus, influenza, coronavirus, adenovirus). General mask usage of the types being used by most people today, do almost nothing to stop transmission. I can't believe this is still even debated. Why all the lying? Makes no sense. Science feels like it died to me this past 2 years.

Here is an example just from last year for influenza:

The best way to state it is; if you live in Louisiana or Alabama, a face mask is like using chain linc fence for your screens on windows and doors——MOSQUITO, MEET CHAIN LINC!

The virus particle is so small it goes right through a mask that isn’t at least a PAPR, and they are not even 100% effective!
