The administration spokesmen are hinting the Taliban itself does not loom as large a threat as jihadists and ISIS K members that are moving into Afghanistan. They have fertile ground of at least 10,000 Americans stuck there for kidnapping and holding for ransom and worse. Many can access the information of where they are. Videos of Americans being held captive may not be far behind. Time is of the essence. Quite frankly, we need to be outside the wire right now rescuing them. And, yes, worst case there has to be contingency planning for introducing more troops to retake Kabul temporarily, if the Taliban does not agree to temporarily withdraw, until we get all our people out.
