There are from 10,000 to 40,000 Americans still trapped inside the country today.

That new big plan will fail unless the military gets off its ass and does an all out assault and take Bagram airbase back, get the men and equipment in there that will be capable of advancing on Kabul and kick ass. But of course they will wait until the ragheads reinforce bagram and put in some chicom anti aircraft assets.
So Biden left the Taliban advanced weaponry.

Biden left them intelligence information.
Biden left them with their enemies helpless.
Biden left them plenty of American victims.

The “big new plan” I was suggesting had more to do with whoever is/will be CIC than related to Afghanistan. But what you said is right, and I don’t expect it to happen. Things will get much worse there, before they get better (if ever), IMHO.
The help may come in the form of new procedures for dealing with Uighurs. China has a stern policy towards them. But it is founded in Chinese law. The Taliban are not bound by nearly as many legal notions and they may provide newer, shorter procedures to deal with the Uighurs. Perhaps not quite as crude as the Germans treatment of those they considered undesirable elements, but somewhat along those lines.
I think the new CCP Taliban public relations team is not about allow any Americans to be harmed.
Make them watch while their Afghan comrades are tortured and killed, sure.
Then have them walk out to Uzbekistan with bad water and maggoty rice, sure.
But not killed, not tortured, not hurt. That would be SO 90s.

Because TeamTrump had identified about 100k deserving Afghan patriots to evacuate [+ all the Americans, obviously]. But TeamBiden didn’t want a hundredK of patriotic, Trump-grateful, freedom fighting nationalists at the front of the line. So they scrapped the plan, knowing that chaos would ensue, and are now leaking the list of patriots such that the folks getting evacuation are the top of the heap of whiners, guvmint-dependent, “peaceful muzzie”, misunderstood, mediotic, elitist [bribe paying], future democraps. From their perspective this is a brilliant plan.
The taleban cares about the taleban first and foremost. If they’re still in charge 40 years from now, THEN they might start considering stickin’ it to the man in China.
