You understand that many places/companies are requiring unvaccinated, and not unvaccinated, to be tested on a regular basis? Number of cases is a bogus number, it means nothing because there is no standard of testing between vaccinated and unvaccinated.
39% would probably be correct for Sinovac, it’s pretty worthless as a vaccine.

Usually, summer with lots of folks outside, getting Vit D, etc. is when flu (& last year, COVID) are at their lowest .... what is happening now is not the ‘norm’.

Uh no, even if both populations are fully vaxxed, the elderly and chronically ill have statistically lower rates of vaccine effectiveness because their immune systems are old and sick as well.
There is no equivalence to be made between the two very different demographics.
Doesn’t mean we should universally lockdown, close schools and wear masks. It means we should take rational steps based on rational risk assessment at the individual level.

There was an article posted here that came out of Israel reporting that after 10 weeks the Pfizer fades to 39% efficacy overall but still prevents severe illness or worse to around 90%.
I don’t know if that is a relative number or absolute number but I’d guess an absolute number. If so the question is what percentage of infections result in severe illness or worse? More than 10%?

Doesn’t that mean that 97.56% of those who died from covid were unvaccinated?
Also, doesn’t that mean that 6,926 COVID deaths were among the unvaccinated?
IOW, the unvaccinated are over 40 times more likely to die from the virus?
You know, I have heard that the effects of Vitamin D are only for naturally occurring serum levels, not for consumption by tablet. I don’t know the answer, but someone recently told me that her dermatologist said that all you need you can get from 15 minutes daily exposure to natural sunlight.
Another interesting fact; For some people their diets are so unhealthy that they can actually suffer from scurvy, which only requires the equivalent of one ketchup package per day!
That is why we should know how many cases there were in the last 5-6 weeks both vaccinated and unvaccinated. Same timespan for both data sets.

There ‘might be’ another explanation. Most of the vaccinated are the elderly and people with preexisting conditions, for which the vaccine is said to be less effective. Are they the ones dying ‘with the vaccine’? And what does 6.6% increase mean? How many?
WhT needs to be compared is, how many y elderly sick precondition people die with vaccine as opposed to without? That will be telling I think.
Another question that needs to be answered is how soon did they bet the virus after being innoculated?
If it is found that the vaccines are making the sick more vulnerable, then why? And does that translate to the healthier indivudua,individual, as well?
The virus has been around d for over a year now, there should be ample evidence by now to have a better understanding g of what’s going on.there should be all kinds of stats by now to show patterns one way or the other. Even with the variants, they have been around for awhile now too.

If the Title or Headlines are good, people will summarize from there.
No clicking on links, or verifying.
I keep hearing completely different reports from different hospitals in different parts of the country, and in different countries, everything from “all or virtually all of the hospitalizations and deaths are among the unvaccinated,” to various mixes of the the vaccinated and unvaccinated, including cases where the vaccinated seem to be doing worse than the unvaccinated. It’s all very confusing.
The difference, I suspect, is that the unvaccinated have a natural, broad, immune response to the virus, while the vaccinated have a narrow, targeted response. The problem is that response is not targeted to deal with the Delta variant, and without the natural broad response, their body has no effective response at all.

The people saying that are basing it on numbers that extend back months and months, before the Delta variant appeared, and probably including the time period when hardly anyone was vaccinated. All the data I’ve looked at that is limited to the last six weeks or so shows the opposite picture.
