Dan Bongino has what he calls his 48-hour rule: Don’t run with an “amazing” story before 48 hours have passed, allowing the facts to emerge. Many of Bongino’s fans would have done well to remember that when Liz Harrington, Trump’s spokesperson, pointed out that Fox News had deleted from the video of Bongino’s phone interview with Trump the part at which Trump referred to election fraud. In fact, there was a good reason for that cut, but Bongino got a lot of hate mail before he could explain. I’ll explain below the three takeaway lessons from this whole experience.
Bongino started in the talk business with a podcast, which I’ve listened to almost since the beginning. He was so good that he now has a very popular Saturday night show on Fox News called Unfiltered with Dan Bongino. On Saturday, Bongino had a telephone interview with Donald Trump. You can hear the entire interview, uncut, on Fox News’s own website:
For Bongino, the fecal matter hit the fan immediately after Harrington’s tweets went out, with many listeners lambasting him for being so cowardly. However, that wasn’t what happened at all.
It turned out that Harrington was close to the mark when she said, “This is just as bad as Big Tech.” In his discussion about the matter on his Monday morning video podcast, Bongino explained that the issue was Big Tech. If Fox News has uploaded the video in its entirety to YouTube, the Tech Tyrants would immediately have deleted the entire video because it touched on a forbidden subject:

Self-censoring is the most effective censorship.
I appreciate the explanation of what happened. I figured Bongino was not at fault and this proves it.
But the emphasis in this article on Bongino’s “48 hour rule” suggests that we who were outraged at what Fox did overreacted before we had all the facts.
This is disingenuous at best, and gives Fox the presumption of innocence and good motives - they cut out the offending part to keep the whole thing from being censored by YouTube. So Fox saved the day by censoring Trump only a little bit.
Screw that, and screw the advice about me waiting 48 hours next time before being outraged at censorship.
Like I said, I do appreciate the explanation, but it could have been given just as easily without the condescending advice about letting cooler heads prevail.
And as for Fox being out for my best interests - that remains to be seen.
Well they DID post the entire video online...
SO WHAT if google YouTube deletes the video. SO FREAKING WHAT!
Just upload it to any of the other thousands of websites out there. The video will eventually get around where anybody to view it.
Stop making google your video god. They aren’t.
Fox is complicit in the election steal using the coup plotter Arnon Mishkin as their rep. The coup plotters are going to get what’s coming to them. The pendulum always swings,
I based my statement on this sentence.
Bongino said early on he would get to the bottom of what happened.
So far, no bottom.
Who at Fox ordered the editing.
Who at Fox edited the interview.
We need names.
At one point Alphabet/Youtube wouldn’t even allow the posting of video by anyone where Trump was interviewed.
Look how very tolerant our tech rulers have become! We should learn to obey everything they say, even when it changes 180 degrees, as they know what’s best for us.
“...forcing Fox News to censor that information.”
Oh BS. Fox News was happy to voluntarily cut out any reference to the Stolen Election. They were in on it!*
*see Arizona.
“Just upload it to any of the other thousands of websites out there. The video will eventually get around where anybody to view it.”
Heck, I even heard that Fox News has a website. What’s the problem with posting it there? Or having two versions?
don’t work for Faux news?
Dan and Mark should have left that dump long ago.
It is posted there, unedited.
Ok, thanks...I was wondering.
That is the whole goal of the Orwellian Leftists.
If you can force people and entities into self-censorship without involving armies of government employees (or government allied businesses) to have to monitor, maintain, investigate, and enforce what is written or said, then you are far ahead of the game.
Especially when you can get family members, friends, teachers, customers, and business associates to do all the heavy lifting.
I usually just download any ScrewBloob videos with a video downloader, because their mandatory ads are annoying and waste my time.
The local Fox11 news outlet here in Los Angeles does not tell the truth. Yesterday they had a regular guest on named congressman adam schiff (D). The guy who never tells the truth and is also involved with that gay guy who murdered several people.
Other censors out there:
I signed up for a new webhost last year and found out they were censoring my email. They detect key words like ‘biden is a pedophile’ and the email would bounce back. They are based in Canada. I switched soon after and have a great webhost called Bluehost https://www.bluehost.com that does not censor.
Why didn’t they upload it anyway then scream bloody murder when YouTube took it down?
