This morning my 20 year old Schnoodle had a stroke, and because of other aliments he had, I brought him to the Vet right away and assisted him to Rainbow Bridge. Sammie was my dad's dog, and when my dad on his death bed cried and said, what's gonna happen to my dog?, I said " Don't worry dad, I will take him!"
God has Always talked to me Through Dogs, because HE KNOWS that will get my attention!
So, This is my Sammie/God talking to me story.... When Sammie lived in Chicago and was a LOT younger we went walking in the park.
Sammie is VERY independent. He does his own thing and always wants to be the BOSS!
Sammie went running ahead off lease, and he would NOT listen to me! So I started with the VOICE in my Head!
"that dog does NOT listen to me! See! I am looking out for him, I do not want him to get hurt and he just runs ahead and will not listen!
THEN, It was as if the Holy Spirit Tapped me on the shoulder and said "WHO ELSE do you know who is like that?" Wow, it was a Spiritual Magical Moment, when God reminded me of Who I really was, and What I did. From then on, I Knew Sammie and me were gonna get along Just Fine, We came to a Mutual understanding that day!
And when I see someone with a Schnoodle Puppy and they say to me, Do you have any tips on raising a Schnoodle? I say, Go out and buy the book, "DEALING WITH A STRONG WILLED CHILD!"
I love you Sammie-Pooh, Thanks for the Memories! P.S. Did I fail to mention Sammie was Definitely a MAGA DOG!!
One of ..if not the most crushing experience in life...to lose your dog. It hurts so bad. Condolences and Rainbow Bridge will make it all right again.
I’m sorry you have lost such a good friend. Good on you for promising your Dad his dog would be loved and cared for — and keeping that promise.
21 years is an amazing blessing. Most of my dogs usually made it to ten or twelve (all large dogs). Current rescue GSD is now 14 1/2 and doing well, although time is starting to show.
Yes, My dad died in 2012, I had no idea Sammie would live this long and keep me active. We were faithfully at the park 3 times a day. He loved walking and hanging out with his other dog friends. Those are most of my friends, Dog Park folks.
Sorry to hear that…good on you for taking care of Sammie…
May he meet and run across the Elysian Fields with my Sammy.
Yeah!! He has good company!
Thank you for sharing such an wonderful testament, FRiend.
Prayers lifting for you in your loss,
And that God may bring another furry soul into your life when the time is right.
Tatt
Thanks so much.
What wonderful stories about Sammie! He lived a great life. RIP Sammie.
I’m just glad you got him off lease.
He was probably indebted to you
;-)
Sorry your buddy left you...
Sorry you lost Sammie. Your description of the dog reminds me so much of our “Bach”, a full bred Mini Schnauzer. He rules the house and we are so grateful to have him in our lives. Smart little rascal.
I’m so sorry for your loss, Chicagolady. Not sure if it will be comfort to you but I imagine Sammie with your Dad... and they are so happy. (((Hugs)))
Amen, I told him, your dad, ( The love of his Life) is waiting for you. Sammie always liked men better! LOL! Except for his Mom, I catered to his every whim!
Yep! Schnauzer and Poodle, made him a pretty smart guy!!
:-). Smart and a tad bit stubborn. LOL
Amen and Amen. All dogs go to Heaven.
Amen. And Thanks.
