I filmed my daughter shooting my Saiga AK.

When I went back and watched it in slow motion, the muzzle flash was rather striking. She had professional training with a shotgun, so the AK was pretty tame.

Funny you mention this- I was just in an argument the other day about recoil with a coworker. He insists that his 7 lb 9 oz .308 has ferocious recoil, while his 6 lb 14 oz 12 gauge is "quite tame" with 3" shells.

I insist that the physics says otherwise, and that if his .308 is beating him up that bad, he needs to get a differently shaped stock.

Some people don’t really enjoy shooting. I had a friend who really didn’t like shooting my S&W 76 until I put a suppressor on it. Heck, I work in the firearms industry, and I don’t really like recoil. I don’t own any magnums, and my two main bolt guns are 6mm & .22. But I had a girlfriend who loved shooting 45-70 lever actions.
