What’s REALLY behind the war on home ownership? Becoming a “Nation of Renters” is clearly a big part of the New Normal.

If Blackrock, say owns 10% of the homes in this country, and they’re all Section 8, who’s paying that rent?

No amount of lockdowns or pandemic will interrupt those checks from flowing in.

And once again the Left has figured out a way to get rich off the taxpayer.

The real villain isn’t a faceless Wall Street Goliath; it’s your neighbors and local governments stopping the construction of new units.
——————————————————-

There is a little bit of truth to this if you dig a little.

Folks moving out of the decrepit cities they helped destroy. Pay anything the seller wants.

Local zoning boards and county commissioners can’t say, no. All they see is tax revenue.

Word on the street is, Walton Cty, Ga has approved building permits for 3000 houses. The place isn’t designed for that. I’m thinking that’s about 6000-9000 more cars, at least. A few more schools. More cops, firefighters and EMTs needed that aren’t there. Road work. Sewer work. Who knows.

Who’s paying for it all? Not the developers and builders. All those bills will be paid by the taxpayers that had no say in approving those 3000 permits.

What’s interesting will be the impact of more people working remotely, which means they don’t necessarily have to live close to the office.

But now the companies want folks back.

Employees don’t want to. The companies don’t have any control over what their employees are doing.

Last night, Congress “accidentally failed” to extend the Covid-related eviction ban.

And landlords everywhere breathed a sigh of relief.

Some of my clients have renters who have not paid them a dime in 14 months. Not because they do not have the money but because they didn't have to pay so they didn't.

Notices to Quit went out today.

About half of them are selling their rentals.

They’ve gotta have someplace to put all the illegals pouring over the border.

“Property is individual power.”

Owning property gives one better security, more independence and options. I know a lot of people who have retired off their real estate investments, as I have. I don’t know a single person who has retired off their Silver or Gold investments.

Our economy, and our tax code, is now convoluted in such a way that it makes a lot of sense to rent your primary residence and own investment property. Of course, that second part went out the window when the COVID-19 eviction moratorium made a lot of investment property worthless.

you have less privacy rights as a renter

more people have access to your place

they can impose more things you have to do or can’t do in a rental

Exactly. And gun ownership is similarly increasing in spite of the anti gunner’s rhetoric.

The left would like everybody to live in the same kind of ugly, spartan, drab apartment as everybody else. They would eliminate home ownership.

Except for the ruling elite. bammy would have his mansion and servants. Ordinary slobs would have to live on a miserable salary from the state - the only employer and the only property owner.

We are not there just yet. For the time being, they will harass property owners and force them to give apartments, heat, light, trash pickup, maintenance and security to non-paying tenants.

The American public, as always, lumbers on, ignorant of what the country is becoming.

I used to own a house. I sold it because I was tired of taxes, insurance and maintenance costs going through the roof.

I may just go live in a van down by the river. I know the fishing is good!

My Mom told me that when she was a kid almost everyone rented. Only the affluent owned homes. So I guess we are going back to the depression. Yea!! 🙄

With help from the federal government, institutional investors became major players in the rental market.

One way to get the land back and work from there to full fill the agenda.
