Having actually been raised on a farm; animals know what is expected either by the herd, or by the farmer. When a cow or chicken “misbehaves” they know it. I suspect if you have a pet, it knows when it has misbehaved. It does not expect a reward for misbehaving, does it?

No pictures necessary. I have house trained a few dogs, and know what you are talking about.
