Scientists who are skeptical of chief White House medical adviser Anthony Fauci’s proclamations about the coronavirus pandemic don’t want to go public with their concerns for fear it will affect their funding, Sen. Rand Paul claimed Tuesday.
“He’s been there for 40 years, probably 39 years too long, but he controls all the funding, so people are deathly afraid of him,” Paul, a Republican from Kentucky, told “Fox News Primetime” of Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) since 1984.
“I get letters from scientists all the time. You can find them. They’re very distrustful of what he’s saying,” Paul added. “They don’t think he’s making sense. They don’t think he’s reading the science accurately, but they’re afraid to speak out because many of them are university scientists and they depend on NIH [National Institutes of Health] funds, and to cross him means it’s the last money you’ll ever get.”
Paul is among Fauci’s most fervent critics on Capitol Hill and the senator clashed with the Brooklyn-born virologist again earlier Tuesday over the issue of whether NIH funded so-called “gain-of-function” research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology.
And with his latest interview, Fauci didn’t help himself, he either made a gaffe or had a Freudian slip!

Here’s the definition of what is a prototype:

Dr. Fauci and the National Institutes of Health are facing scrutiny from Republican members of Congress and others over grant money paid to a lab in Wuhan, China in the early 2000s, as scientists increasingly question whether COVID-19 emerged from the lab.

In other words, Fauci is a great example of the very corrupt, post-17th Amendment ratfitifcation, unaccountable spending, alleged election-stealing Congress hiding behind non-elected bureaucrats.
The Congress has given over most of the “powers of the Purse” to the Executive, specifically to the bureaucracy which has grown to be the major lawmaking body in the US government and controls the Executive. The only cure is for the USSC to find all these delegations o be unConstitutional and for the Civil Service law to be repealed. No chance of either.

The House of Republicans uniquely has the constitutitonal power of the purse whether they want it or not. Delegating this power to the executive branch is unconstitutional imo.
In fact, the delegates to the Constitutional Convention made representative terms only two years long, should now be amended for every Monday, so that us ordinary voters can "impeach and remove" bad-apple, Constitution-ignoring representatives from office much faster.
The first decade of the 1900’s was damning for America — 16A, 17A, 19A, The Federal Reserve, Wilson, Dewey...
As as side note, consider that repealing 16A and 17A would have the effect of all the states seceding from unconstitutionally big federal government imo.

In biology, prototype is the ancestral or primitive form of a species or other group; an archetype.
About a year ago during a daily briefing a reporter ask him if the virus could have escaped from a lab. He answered “I can prove it was not man made” The reporter tried to point out that was not the question. Dr.F realizing he screwed up started explaining a bunch of science and then acted like we would not understand it and stormed out of the briefing.
