Thanks for posting.
shouldn’t that be “marksperson” rifle
I’m outraged!, let’s burn s**t down!!!
Hey, where’s the magazine?
Oh boy, gun porn.....now you get to hear everybodys opinion on what’s the best rifle.....whether you want it or not. Lol
It look like any other AR type.
The M110A1 is also a highly precise weapon, boasting a guaranteed accuracy of 1.5 minutes of angle (MOA) at 100 meters; this means that a trained marksman should be able to place shots within a 1.57 inch circle at a range of 100 meters. The rifle will be fitted with the Sig Sauer Tango 6 variable zoom optic, allowing operators the flexibility to utilize the weapon at various ranges. The M110A1 is designed to allow soldiers to accurately engage targets at ranges of up to 600 meters.
A marksman is expected to shoot 1.5 MOA at 100 meters?? What???

It’s the US Army. They train their troops to have a basic grasp of which end the projectile comes out of and call it good enough.
Semper Fi.
Sorry to rain on the parade, but the contract for $44.5 million to obtain 6,000 rifles works out to over $7,000 per rifle. And 1.5 MOA? That’s the best they can do for that price?
I can see why New Zealand went with LMT rifles.
This is just like the US Army.
They had been repurposing old M-14s for this role and everyone was completely satisfied with the results.
So Army procurement steps in to make it better, shifts to the H&K G28 platform and foreign scope.
The end result for both efforts was a scoped semi auto .308 with a 600M range.
But the Army procurement solution cost several million dollars and required a whole new foreign supply chain.
A trained marksman is expected to put shots within 1.5 MOA, bench press 40 lbs, do 3 pushups, and run the 8 minute mile. Standards!
I dunno. 1.5 MOA sounds pretty reasonable for a squad marksman.
The article states the M-14 was 7.62 but does not say what round the new rifle shoots.
The same?
Why can’t guns use clips and make it easy on me!!!
1.5 MOA is nothing special, damn near any off the rack rifle produced today can do that easily. Even the lowly Ruger American can shoot sub MOA, same with the Savage Axis and these are cheap rifles. My DPMS LR 308 shoots sub MOA and with the right load well under.
Sometimes it seems that our government just loves to waste money.
No, you didn’t spell it wrong. Just me being a smart@$$.
