Sahara is not alone in her appreciation for this country after escaping constant danger. I recently met a woman who is a Christian Armenian that grew up in Iran and had to escape the country during the revolution with barely any resources. She came to America with a couple hundred dollars in her pocket but found a way to succeed. Now she has a son that is attending a prestigious university and he doesn’t have to experience the turmoil that his mother endured.
Although they were not born in this country, they exemplify the appreciation that every American should have but we are far too comfortable to realize how fortunate we actually are.

Land of the ‘gimmedats’
From the images I see of all the riots and protests, it seems that most of the white supporters of these were Millennials. Please correct me if I’m wrong but I consider them to be aptly describe by this headline of this article.
Not me. I’m glad everyday of my life that my ancestors hoped on a boat out of Ireland. Couldn’t imagine growing up on that shite hole of an island.
Reminds me of Muhammad Ali's quote after he went to Africa to fight George Foreman...."Thank God my Granddaddy got on that boat!"
“...we are far too comfortable to realize how fortunate we actually are...”
That describes “millennials” to a “T”...
I see the lack of gratitude in this country as the single most damaging spiritual result from the decline of Christianity in this country.
So many among us do not understand that, as a part of fallen humanity, we do not deserve the blessings we have received. Only by God’s mercy and grace are we give a comfortable life and the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross.
Few understand it when I say, “If I got what I deserved, I would be dead.” Friends, we are all in that same boat. I wish more understood why.
We got too fat dumb and happy, and just assumed this is the natural state of things.
What starts as entitlement ends with violence.
They don’t care about the hand that feeds..they hate you..or they hate themselves and they take it out on you.
