I have 3 cats. 2 of which are 18#...they’re pretty big and then my Lily, she’s maybe 5#. Anyway I use Tidy Cats-Glade. I have 2 litter pans and clean them daily and no smell. One thing though, if you have a male that is not neutered, it doesn’t matter what you use because he will ‘mark’ his areas inside and that’s nothing but nasty smelling! I had to get the 2 males neutered and that stopped all odors.
Tractor Supply has big bags of pelletized bedding—cheap!
3500 sq ft with an 1125 sq ft atrium room off the back with 13 cats, and another 10 regular visitors outdoors, and a dog that hates cats. Nursing another kitten that was abandoned by its mother for whatever reason as well. Total 24 cats.
It’s better than the 27 we had back in the nineties. All of them are funsters except Skooter who is an AH.
I have a Rainbow vacumn cleaner and am thrilled with it’s quality.
The folks who cleaned my carpets were stunned because I had 2 pooches and 1 kitty at that time and there was no sign at all of them being in the house.
Until then, I’d been happy with my Rainbow; that day, though, proved the salesman’s insistence on the quality of the Rainbow!!!
I remember Rainbow vacuum cleaners. I’ve never owned one though. I love cats, but after I had to put both of mine down at the same time, I just couldn’t bring myself to get any more. If I need a kitty fix, I visit my oldest son, or my niece and sister-in-law. When I visit my son, who has only one cat, and see all the black cat hair on everything, along with the clawed furniture (he once had four cats, three of them inherited from old girlfriends), it immediately cures whatever desire I have of having a cat again.
a few more square feet he could live with 40 cats, wouldn’t that be doing good
I love my little guy - right now he’s sleeping with his cheek on my cheek - but 15 of them? That would be like having giant rodents wandering around.
I believe my Rainbow is at least 25 years old and still going strong.
Kitties should be brushed on a daily basis and bathed with a good shampoo to help with the shedding.
Our cat (Sigfreid) was a male orange tabby. Though he was an indoor cat we did not want to declaw him as we were worried if he got out he’d be defenseless.
Well, that plan went out the window one night when Sigfreid tried to use my husband’s stomach as a landing pad from the large window in the Master Bedroom. I heard this scream followed by a orange blur going by me in the den which is dead center of our house.
Ever watch those old movies where a guy gets in a bar brawl and has a cut from the broken beer bottle? Yep. Just like it. I called the vet the next day. He knew us and was stunned. I told him it’s either put the cat down or declaw it sucker. Declawing took place the next day.
That said, it was just the back claws that were removed and we taught Sigfreid to defend himself by training him with out two large dogs. It was a riot. The dogs would be running through the house with the orange cat hanging onto them. The dogs thought it was a game and we knew if Sigfreid could take them on, then he’d be okay.
Sigfreid lived to the ripe old age of 18. After that, we’ve had 7 or 8 pooches. All female until this last pooche we adopted just this past Wednesday.
I miss Sigfreid. So much. His ashes are in my Quiet Room. The ashes of the pooches are in my beloved husband’s spare room. LOL
Several years earlier, I was sending my oldest son off to school, and as we walked out the door, we saw Kong crossing the street at the same time a car was coming down the road. The car drove right over him, and we expected to see him flattened. But the car never touched him, and he finished his trek across the street, and up onto the porch as if nothing had even happened. Kong was an amazing cat. He saw me through a lot of bad times...my divorce, my father's death, my mother's death, and my brother's death. I've got his ashes sitting on the bookcase in my living room, along with the ashes of my last two cats, Timmy and Gunner, who although they were indoor cats, didn't get to live as long as that tough old Kong did.
He's entitled to have as many cats as he wants, as long as they are taken care of. Like some people can't have enough weapons. Some folks can't have enough cats.
It’s amazing, isn’t it, mass55th, how the LORD God gave us such little packages packed with so much emotion!
Folks who are not pet people honestly have no inkling what chords of emotions can be played upon the heart when a furry creature of small or large size enters into our lives.
I haven’t a clue as to what will be done with my remains. My beloved husband, however, has instructed me that I’d better find somewhere his urn and all the urns of the dogs will be stored. I inquired about Sigfreid’s urn and he said it was mine to keep. LOL
That man carried that cat around all his life. If there’s ever a dictionary with pictures of a rotten animal, it’s probably Sigfreid’s picture above the line.
I am so glad you had comfort for the dark times.
Yep,
That is what is meant by “not a good sign.”
I told my oldest son to take my ashes, and the ashes of my three cats, and toss them wherever he wanted to. I’ve always said that God couldn’t make such loving creatures as cats, and dogs, and not give them a soul. I’m hoping to be reunited with them all some day. In the meantime, my father, who was an animal lover, is up above, taking care of them for me.
I wonder if Curtis and Keith Hernandez compare cat notes :-)
What a nice sentiment among all the hatred and mockery. Who knows what effect this will have on Sliwa's candidacy, although I can't see a Republican winning no matter what in NYC.
This is probably just part of his post-SHTF plan. Once it happens, he’s goes from being a cat-owner to a rancher since cat is the other white meat. I just hope he has some recipes printed out.
Other folks have weirder and less-useful hobbies, believe me.
Besides, taking care of the furry felines probably keeps Curt's wife happy and occupied while he's off doing his politikin' for mayor.

Your assumption of an animal having a soul is correct:
Job 12:7-10 KJV
7 But ask now the beasts, and they shall teach thee; and the fowls of the air, and they shall tell thee:
8 Or speak to the earth, and it shall teach thee: and the fishes of the sea shall declare unto thee.
9 Who knoweth not in all these that the hand of the Lord hath wrought this?
10 In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind.
