Clay and Buck....sounds like a sportsman’s store, or magazine.
Here in eastern Oklahoma we got a cat named Mark Kaye(sp?), syndicated out of Florida.
More like a political comedy show... Mark is a witty dude and all that but his female producer who shares the mic with him much like whatshername and Hannity, is insufferable. At random times in the show she pops up and says “WHERE ARE THOSE PICKLES?”
Very stupid. They’re trying too hard, actually.
Not much alternative except the classical music on the University of Tulsa radio station, which is kinda hard to pick up way up here near the MO AR OK border.
Lonsberry is right, Rush was like, say, Michael Jordan. Someone takes his place but no one replaces him. The best thing everyone else can do is to be themselves, and let the chips fall where they will.
I’m not impressed with Lonsberry critique. Rush didn’t
‘make it’ because he was different - he made it because he was better...
Big difference.
Lonsberry’s coming across like a thug... an old shock jock - a phony tough guy...a bully. Might be why he doesn’t have Rush’s slot... or any chance of ever having it.
Bongino is on in the 12-3 PM EST time slot in at least 3 big markets (WMAL/Baltimore-DC, WLS/Chicago, KABC/LA). What “big rig” are these 2 guys driving?
Nobody can be "like" Rush, so stop trying, just be yourselves and sink or swim.
Glen Beck live precedes the old Rush time slot. I need a different radio in my office. The analog tuned FM radio has been set in one spot for 20 years. No longer.
Dan’s the man...IMHO
>>Will not waste time on listening about their polls, with 3 1/2 years to go.
That is producer driven stuff to “show” the hosts have “relevance” and “can drive traffic to the website”.
I’m listening to radio to listen to radio. The younger hosts all want to promote their podcasts.
They couldn’t carry Rush’s joke.
I like that the same music is being used (at least now during this transition period).
It helps people know that they’ve tuned into the right station.
And that can be specially important for people who travel/vacation and use their car radio.
You hear that and you know where you are.
Also with the shift in hosts, it still makes it clear that this is the replacement (nationwide) and not just at the local affiliate.
For me, time was I’d catnap on my lunch hour and with the radio on, I’d still get periodic updates to the time with the opening theme, the symphonic bumper, etc.
I hear ya. I feel the same way. He’s a decent man, but way too intense for a few minutes, yet alone 3 hours a day.
It is to me and has been for some time.
In fact with regard to media, I'm down to just an Internet connection, Sirius/XM (I love my music) and library books.
No cable, no Netflix, no Amazon Prime, no commercial radio, no newspapers or magazines etc.
If they’re going to use Rush’s show opener song, then they need to also wait until the “right time” to start talking, like Rush did. Clay (or Buck) started talking TOO SOON both yesterday and today. Yes, I know that’s nit-picky, but it’s a THING.
The nit picking on this thread is ridiculous. If you don’t like what you’re hearing, turn the damn dial. They are NOT Rush, Rush is dead, get over it or go to a place where you can hear all the Rush audio all damn day, all you want. This is a new era, get over yourselves. Life goes on, either go with it, or go somewhere else. Leave these guys alone. The whining on this thread and the other thread is embarrassing. SMH.
B-O-R-I-N-G!
In our market, we now have Dana Loesch. Boring as well. Going to give Dennis Prager a try. If not him, then maybe I'm just done with 12-3 talk radio.
And, nobody else could do what RUSH did, including these guys. The tonight show a.k.a. Late Night TV died after Johnny Carson, and talk radio died after RUSH. Woodstock died after Woodstock. It's time for someone to emerge in a different arena, and someone will.
Right...they are the successor hosts of the EIB Network. It’s a big change to have new hosts...but with familiarity. It’s the best approach for Rush’s successors (but not replacements).
