My cousin who lives in DC just told me that he was passing the department of agriculture and the department of printing and engraving and they are completely abandoned. And that Pennsylvania Avenue this afternoon was completely empty. Washington is abandoned. He lived there his entire life. Metro barely runs. Buses are empty. The city is empty. FACTS!
Everyone’s working from home with a new task. On the web hunting for those wascally white supwemacists.
It’s not quite that bad, but Federal workers have gotten used to working from home during the pandemic. Even some of the courts have been holding virtual hearings. Now that the rest of the economy has reopened, I wonder how long it will be before the government workers return, or if they ever will, completely.
I’m so sorry to hear this. I worked in DC for 40 years and I grew to love the city. Around the monuments, it is a beautiful place.
