Except that I don’t know of cases where threats lead to suicides. He could have just as easily have renounced the story as fake and been done with it, or pulled his book out of distribution. It seems too much that he would instead kill himself and ruin the lives of his family in the process.

There is not a lot of details on his death yet. It has been mentioned that he played football at Alabama. I wouldn’t rule out suicide completely.
