Had to laugh, I’m definitely the “I know my car” type. And for the record, the only time I ran out of gas was decades ago and many cars since.

I have been flying my airplane for many years now. The “I know my car” types I can deal with but those pilots that say, “I know my airplane”......No thanks.

Nowadays, I usually fill up at around 1/4 tank, but ... The "I know my car" level was about a dollars worth when I was a kid. If you had a lot of cash somehow you could buy $2 worth! NOBODY in my circles ever FILLED UP; only the rich could afford to do that.
