A top U.S. medical adviser during the Trump and Biden administrations told a woman in early 2020 that masks one buys from drug stores had little effectiveness against the virus that causes COVID-19.
“The typical mask you buy in the drug store is not really effective in keeping out virus, which is small enough to pass through the material,” Dr. Anthony Fauci, the longtime head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, told the woman in an email dated Feb. 5, 2020.
The only reason paper medical masks exist is so surgeons don’t sneeze into an open wound. That’s it. Other than spittle, they filter nothing.
Figures but we already knew - still they pushed it
It tells one right on the box of masks they are useless.
I wear those. Those and some gowns from ad agency whom had J&J as a client, left out in 1990.
They were going to be thrown in the trash so we asked for them.
Got a bunch, plus gowns. Some got wet and molded.
I refuse to go ‘designer’. None are any good. Use to think about wearing them just to keep people from getting too close. lol
This is why it was always stupid to mask the healthy.
Fauci has told the world that masks were never useful on the healthy.
Fauxi isn’t really effective.
But what about cotton masks made in China and sold at Old Navy? They have some good looking prints coordinate with your wardrobe.
The only thing he said in the last year and a half that was truthful.
P.S. the N95 masks aren't much better.
I was shopping in the Syracuse area today and about 25% of the people were NOT wearing masks in the grocery store.
I still saw masked families with little kids playing OUTSIDE, all masked up.
Pathetic.
