Nah, the area of Goma is a prosperous area.
In many ‘developing countries’ establishing a cell phone system is much easer and cheaper than creating old-fashioned land lines. In fact in pictures from Goma a couple of days ago I saw what had to be a cell tower.
The Josef Konrad novellete was more about Belgian atrocities. I like the way he starts by pointing out that Britain was the heart of darkness at the time of Christ .
