Marc Lamont Hill, the charismatic professor-type guy and pundit-type guy when it comes to race issues asked a question to conservative media guy, Christopher Rufo

“What do you like about being white?”

It’s a hard question to answer if you’re not obsessed with skin color or have not been marinating in race theory education for years.

Obviously the question is an entrée into a discussion in which the parameters have already been decided by Hill.

Hill wants him to play along so badly it’s sad. Hill even went first when he talked about things he liked about being black. He gave Rufo permission to play the race game and he kept the pressure on, though unsuccessfully.

At the end of the day, though, I don’t believe I’ve ever heard anyone in real life talk about their whiteness. Long conversations about skin color are recreations for academics or activists while most everyone else is consumed with the daily grind of life.

Never heard of Rufo, but he tackled the wrong premise. When Hill says "The world sees you as a white man. What's do you like about being white?", the premise to attack was that the world sees race the way Hill does.

"That's the difference between me and you, Marc: You see me as a white man, you see yourself as a black man, and I see us as just men."

Then if he gives you any crap tell him you were paraphrasing Sidney Potier and end the interview. :D

I really like being talked to by police with a respectable tone and more often than not being let go with just a warning.
And it’s been really nice being able to say “Thanks, Dad”, for as long as I can remember.

Lamont was trying to invoke a conversation about white guilt. So are you happy about slavery, Jim Crow, Trump? We’re supposed to feel guilty that we subscribe to American values of family, hard work and independence. It annoys him that we don’t feel guilty about the plight of blacks trapped on the liberal plantation.

I like being able to attack the police, even grabbing their guns, and getting away with it. Also, other white people giving me free stuff all the time is pretty great, too. Basically, all of the privilege.
