40 years ago? So what! He (18) had a SEXUAL “RELATIONSHIP” (many times), with a 14 year old! Ending in pregnancy and later SUICIDE!
Would ANY of you let your 14 year old daughter date (let alone have SEX with) an 18 year old boy?

When I was 14, a girl I was friends with, also 14, was dating an 18-year-old, nearly 19-years-old. He had a fulltime job as an auto mechanic, had his own car and his own apartment. She told me they were having sex and were going to get married. She got pregnant at 15, married at 16 and abandoned by him and divorced by the time she was 17, dropped out of HS, ended up on welfare.
Keep in mind that at age 14, I had only given up playing with Barbie dolls a year earlier.
When my mother found out my 14-year-old friend was dating an 18-year-old, (and I hadn’t told her about the sex, but she rightly assumed) she told me I was no longer allowed to go to her house or be around her when her boyfriend was around, definitely not to go to his apartment with her or ride in his car, etc., and it would be even better and in fact insisted that I find another friend because she was concerned about the bad influence this might have on me.
I did stop associating with her but not just because of her boyfriend and something I never told my mother about this because I didn’t know how to explain it.
The girl was being raised by her paternal grandparents. Her parents were I guess ‘60’s hippy types had her when they themselves were young teenagers, her mother died from a drug overdose when she was just a toddler and her father left her with is parents, traveled the world and according to her did a lot of drugs, and didn’t see her again until then recently when she was now in her early teens.
Presumably he was no longer a hard drug user but she would tell me how handsome and “sexy” her father was, go on and on about his physical attractiveness, how they smoked pot together and would go out on “dates” and said other things that led me to believe that their relationship was not normal, borderline if not outright incestuous.
Part of me felt sorry and afraid for her and wanting to help her but at the same time I also knew this was someone I needed to not be around.
I wasn’t aware he was a rapist. As a criminal felon, how is he holding office as a State Senator ? When was he convicted and how many years in prison did he serve ?
Pretty stupid if that state doesn’t have a Romeo and Juliet exemption. Also silly to blame him for the chick killing herself 2 years after they broke up.
I can’t imagine his electability isn’t shot now however when even half of freepers are freaking out.
